History

Walter Rosen lives in Oak Park, Illinois. After the opening of the Devil's Gate in Wyoming at the end of 2.22 All Hell Breaks Loose: Part Two, Walter gets possessed by the demonic manifestation of Envy of the Seven Deadly Sins. He dies after Tamara exorcises Envy from his body.

3.01 The Magnificent Seven

In the teaser, Walter is seen putting out his garbage. He gives his neighbor's car a brief longing look (hinting towards his feelings of envy towards his neighbor) before heading back inside, when he suddenly notices the garbage can start rattling, the street lights flickering, and a dark cloud of demon smoke roil above in the sky. He tries to run inside his house but, to his shock, he is overtaken by demon smoke that enters his body through his mouth, becoming possessed by the demon Envy. The possessed Walter then leaves his home and goes to Nebraska to join up with the rest of the Seven Deadly Sins, causing him to be reported as missing by an unknown party. In Nebraska, he is caught on video causing a woman to kill another over a pair of shoes, and Sam, Dean, and Bobby identify him. They manage to capture and interrogate Envy in Walter's body. When Tamara exorcises Envy, Walter dies, indicating that Walter had been grievously injured at some point during his possession and had died as a result of Envy's being ejected from his body (during possessions, meatsuits don't die from fatal wounds until they are depossessed).
