The main arc of the season concerns the feud between the Davidsons and the Walkers. It dates back to when Abby broke up with Marv Davidson to marry Bonham. Later Marv died in a barn fire that the Davidsons believe Cordell was responsible for. This season it is revealed that Marv had given away Gale's first child who was unwell. He told no-one except Anny. That child turns out to be none other than Geri! In settling an old bet, the two families hold a horse race, and the Davidson's win under dubious circumstances but it means they get the Walker ranch. Geri's new relationship with the Davidson's puts a strain on her burgeoning affair with Cordell and they take a break.

Liam, is been sacked for planting evidence on Dan Miller, Denise's husband who he suspects of being involved with Serano's gang (which he was). Eventually Geri becomes suspicious that Gale new her child had survived and confronts her. Gale confesses that she killed Marv when she found out her child was still alive.

In the Texas Rangers, Micki starts the season undercover trying to find the sniper who tried to kill Cordell. She meets up with her old fiance, who she left at the altar. He's not only in Serano's gang, he was actually the sniper. Micki ends up killing him, when he again plans to take out Cordell. The trauma of this causes a crisis for Mickey and she decides to leave Austin, the Rangers and Trey.

Her replacement is Cassie PErez, who has left the Dallas Rangers to investigate her partner Miles' disappearance, which has been ruled a homicide despite the lack of a body.  Eventually, Cordell and James track down Miles who is very much alive. He explains that he and his boss faked his death after the shadowy organization they were investigating threatened his daughter. Miles is sent into witness protection.

Walker got off to a great start with the Season One premiere attracting an audience that makes it the highest rated show on the CW for the time slot in four years. The CW has shown its faith in the series on on 4 February 2021, by extending its Season 1 order from 13 to 18 episodes, and already locking it in for Season 2. This is such a testament to the work of Jared, showrunner Anna Fricke and all the cast and crew.

On October 20, 2021, it was announced that Lindsay Morgan who plays Micki Ramirez has would leave the show during the season for personal reasons saying "“This decision was entirely my choice and I am overwhelmed with gratitude to all those involved for their full support and compassion,” she added. “I have only been treated with the upmost respect, kindness and appreciation from this cast, crew, production, writing team, network and studio. Walker was one of the safest, professional and joyful sets that I’ve ever experienced and it was truly a privilege to create with such gems of human beings.”
Jared said "“Lindsey is a wonderful person, inside and out. I am proud of, and grateful for, her work on Walker. Moreover, I’m honored to consider her a friend.”

Ashley Reyes was cast to play Walker's new partner Cassie Perez. She first appeared in the tenth episode of Season Two "Nudge".

Season 2 Summary

Bonham reveals that just before he died, Marv and he had agreed to have a horse race to decide who kept the land. 2.13 One Good Thing Ben Hernandez Bray Bret VandenBos & Brandon Willer April 7, 2022 While trying to clear his father, Cordell discovers that Marv Davison gave away his infant daughter and told Gale the child had died, because they couldn't care for her. The child's father and a friend tried to rob Marc to pay for surgery for the child, and in the process Marv was killed. The adopted child is revealed to be Geri.
2.14 No Such Thing As Fair Play Jensen Ackles Katherine Alyse April 14, 2022 At the Ranger's Fair, Cassie learns from her old boss Fenton that more evidence has been found about her partner's disappearance, and it appears he is dead. Geri struggles to understand why Abby, who knew Marv had given away his daughter, kept this secret from Gale. Cordell is less than empathetic, and Geri says she needs a break.
2.15 Bygones Phil Hardage David James April 28, 2022 Walker and Cassie investigate a case involving crypto currency. Their suspect turns out to be the ex-husband of Twyla Jean, a woman Cordell had a relationship with while he was undercover. Trey helps Larry and Augie deal with stress. Bonham and Dan do some gardening.

2.17 Torn America Young Aaron Carew June 2, 2022 Twyla and Cordell get closer as they work on a case together. Ok they have sex. Hot sex. And then decide they aren't right for each other and Twyla leaves town. Liam dates Cassie' brother.
2.18 Search and Rescue Austin Nichols Teleplay by : Bret VandenBos & Brandon Willer; Story by : Seamus Kevin Fahey & Bret VandenBos & Brandon Willer June 9, 2022 Stella and Colton's first date goes terribly wrong but brings their families closer, while James and Cordell discover that Cassies' partner Miles is alive.
2.19 A Matter of Miles Tessa Blake Aaron Carew & Anna Fricke June 16, 2022 The Walkers and Davidsons get together for dinner. A slip of the tongue raises Geri's suspicion that maybe Denise did know all along that she was alive. At the safe house where Miles is held he tells Cassie that he staged his murder when he felt his daughter was in danger from a shadowy organisation he and their boss Fenton were investiage =ibng which was behind drugs, trafficking and more. Fenton is brought in for questioning, but won't reveal anything about who was after him and Miles, and when left alone kills himself using a suicide pill. Miles is sent into witness protection.
2.20 Somethings Missing Steve Robin Seamus Kevin Fahey & Anna Fricke June 23, 2022 Geri gets Gale to confess that she killed Marv and set the barn on fire and blamed Cordell all those years ago. Everyone sort of forgives everyone. Geri breaks up for realsies with Cordi. Cassie moves into the same apartment building as Trey, who has decided to be a Texas Ranger. Liam decides to give up law and work on the ranch which the Walkers' now have back from the Davidsons. And as Stella is about to graduate, Codell is ...KIDNAPPED!
