Visual effects (VFX) is the art of the integrating live-action footage with computer-generated material. At Supernatural, the VFX lab is based in Vancouver and is headed by Mark Meloche, who has been with the Show since the first season.

VFX non-con

Following the Supernatural convention that was held in Vancouver in August 2013; the VFX crew along with our very own Jules from Superwiki arranged a get together for the fans as an opportunity to meet the VFX team and discuss the amazing VFX on the show.

As it was not part of the convention the VFX meet was dubbed the VFX non-con and that title has stuck.

The 2013 VFX non-con was held in a wonderful venue in Vancouver called the Storm Crow Tavern it is a haven for all things nerd so was the perfect setting for the VFX event.

The VFX non-con consisted of showings of unofficial SPN VFX demo reels, some astonishing before and after VFX shots and a Q&A session with the VFX Coordinator Ryan Curtis.

After all of that the fans then got a chance to have their pictures taken with, chat to and get autographs from each of the VFX crew in attendance:
