Please do not remove the term Queer from the Wiki. It is an umbrella term for people who identify as sexuality or gender diverse or as an alternative term to GLBTIQ and not a slur. Missyjack / Super Wiki Admin

Please heed my above request or I will need to ban you from editing. --Missyjack 11:11, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

And, once *AGAIN*, I ask you how you can claim that that word is not a slur. Ozymandias 21:52, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

I'll repeat what I said before: I'm sorry if you personally do not identify with the term queer however it is widely used as a term of sexual and gender diverse identity and will remain. As the Admin of this Wiki and a queer woman I take every opportunity to spread pride in this. Yes the word can be used as an insult, as can words like gay or dyke, but it is quite clear from the context the term is used in the Wiki that is not being used as a slur. For example I use it to describe Crowley's sexuality. We know he has had a son, and there also are ongoing references to same-sex liaisons. Queer is an appropriate word to use in relation to his sexuality. The use in this context is obviously not pejorative.

The term queer has been around for 20 years and is widely used today. You can search the web for other examples but perhaps the Queer Cultural Center in San Francisco or this list of academic articles about queer identity, or this article in today's Bay Area reporter about Queer families are an indication of its prominent and accepted (and acceptable) use.

If you wish to contribute to this Wiki, please do so. However this matter is closed for discussion and you will be banned if you continue to raise the topic. --Missyjack 00:19, 28 January 2011 (UTC) Supernatural Wiki Administrator.

Go ahead and ban me if you feel the need. I simply asked a question because you posted a very prevalent comment on my user page and completely ignored my question on your talk page. While I, and many people in this part of the country disagree with your use of an offensive word, it is your right to offend people with your website, should you so choose. I was simply asking for *WHY* you were insisting on using that word, especially since you seemingly kept making the decree with no reason or justification as to why. I thought I was making an effort to improve this site, and you were either unable or unwilling to explain why you were undoing those changes.

I will not be making the efforts to remove offensive words, or refrain from using them any further. Since many African Americans self identify with the n-word, does your logic mean that it is acceptable to refer to Missouri Mosley and Gordon Walker as '******'? Personally, I find it distasteful to even write these words in this sentence, let alone use that or '*****' to describe someone.

But, you are the admin, and this is presumably your site.
