History
Originating in the 7th-5th Century BC, the Tree of Pain is a symbol of Fairy Magic. It was used by the Ancient Celts for magic rituals and casting spells. The Tree of Pain is used as a hex to maim or kill the subject bearing the mark for the uninitiated. It symbolizes pain, both physical and spiritual. For the initiated practitioners of Celtic Fairy Magic, the Tree of Pain is a powerful protection symbol that served to bind the tribe. The Tree of Pain symbol had been passed down to the ancient Celts.

Upon summoning the fairy Gilda, a LARPer named Gerry began forcing Gilda to assault and murder those he saw as competition. Gilda would attack her victims by branding them with the Tree of Pain. The assaults ranged from a woman, Phyllis Morton, being hobbled to simple assault on a man named Jaime Parker to murdering Ed Nelson through drawn and quartering and Lance Jacobsen with belladonna poisoning.
