Torvald is a member of the Thule Society.

8.13 Everybody Hates Hitler
Torvald is following Rabbi Bass, a member of the Judah Initiative which since the Second World War has been trying to find The Red Ledger in which the Thule recorded magical experiments for reanimating the dead. When Rabbi locates the ledger, Torvald kills him by causing him to combust.
