The Host of Heaven
The Host of Heaven is an angelic organization. Not much is known about this particular organization. However, we do know that The Host of Heaven has been mentioned highly numerous times throughout season five. In biblical lore the heavenly host consists of Michael as the leader, Gabriel and Lucifer who was kicked out of heaven and he lost his position of being a heavenly host member.
It could be assumed that all angels in heaven were part of the Host, which would include Michael, Raphael, Zachariah and any angels of the Angel Garrisons. In Canon Michael is the only archangel who has been clarified as being an active member of the host. Michael commands the heavenly host. This was stated by a Demon-possessed Bobby. When Zachariah failed to get Dean's consent for Michael, Michael terminated his position on the Host. However, just recently, Michael re-elected Zachariah to his prior Job (getting Dean to consent to Michael).
Well, I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley, believe me. He commands the heavenly host. During the last big dust-up upstairs, he's the one who booted Lucifer's ass to the basement. Did it with that sword.

Host Members:
*Michael - In God's absence, Michael was left in charge of Heaven and the Angels that dwell there. Michael is charge of managing the Host. He has complete authority over the Host and its members. Michael was God's head Angel. But when he fell into Lucifer's Cage, his absence caused Heaven to fall into chaos. Castiel returned to home to restore peace and order to Heaven.
- Lucifer - Lucifer was God's most beautiful creation, with the exclusion of His other creations which are Earth and Humanity. Lucifer is second to Michael. Due to Lucifer's defiance and disobedience, he lost his angelic status and as well as his place on the Host.
- Gabriel - Gabriel was an active member of the Host, however, Lucifer and Michael constantly had arguments, so Gabriel decided to leave his family and retreated to Earth as a temporary fix to his dilemma.
- Raphael - Raphael is an active member of the Host. Although he seems to have lost faith in his father, God. We are made aware of Raphael's faith in 5.03 Free To Be You And Me, when Raphael made the comment, "God is dead"; Raphael thought that if God was in fact alive, how then could all of the terrible catastrophes be active with God alive." This statement is very ironic; theoretically God can't die nor age or grow tired.
- Zachariah - He always was looked upon with respect from his fellow angel sisters/brothers. But when he failed to get Dean's consent for Michael, Michael terminated is position on the Host. However Michael re-elected Zachariah to his prior task (getting Dean to consent to Michael).
- Castiel - At first, Castiel directed most of his efforts towards following orders. Castiel as of this date in now more humanized, this is mainly because he has spent a considerable amount of time on Earth watching over the Winchesters. This has changed his perspective to such a degree that he has rebelled for Dean's sake; Cass has sacrificed everything for Dean Winchester (this includes his Host position as well as his angelic reputation), when Dean neglects to remember this fact, Cass sternly reminds him periodically. Cass had lost his position on the Host until he was resurrected a second time. It is strongly implied that he is now an Archangel and will return to Heaven as the new commander of the Host (Viceroy of Heaven).
- Anna - At one point Anna was part of the Host. However she began longing for independence, so she decided to remove her Grace (angelic energy) and rebel. At one point Anna were Castiel and Uriel's superior.
- Joshua - Joshua is an angel who talks directly with God. Joshua is the Keeper and Guardian of Eden; he says some refer to it as "God's Throne Room". God and Joshua speak to one another periodically. Although he hasn't seen God. Joshua is an active member of the Host.
- Uriel - Uriel was first introduced as being a "specialist". Uriel was originally under Castiel's authority. Later on, Uriel was promoted to a higher rank than Castiel; it should be noted that this was mainly due to Castiel's defiance to his angelic leaders, which led to Castiel's rebellion. Uriel finally reveled that he was in fact working for the fallen angel named Lucifer. Uriel made many attempts to persuade the angels in his Garrison (including Castiel) to join his cause - freeing Lucifer from Hell. Cass denied this offer; this led to an angelic fight between Castiel and Uriel. Uriel got the upper hand and was about to slay Cass, when Anna appeared just in time to slay Uriel with The Angel killing Blade.
- Cupids - Cherubs in general play an amusing role on the Host. Basically, their main focus is to bring "special couples" (such as John and Mary Winchester) together.

While being possessed by a demon, Bobby told Dean that Michael commands the Heavenly Host.

Castiel stated that Jesse Turner - the Antichrist, is powerful enough to destroy the Host of Heaven.
