The Christmas Cottage
The Christmas Cottage focuses on American painter Thomas Kinkade and the inspiration behind his painting The Christmas Cottage. Jared Padalecki stars as Thomas Kinkade, and Peter O'Toole co-stars as his mentor. It was announced as being the first in a three picture series to be produced by Lionsgate and Kinkade.
The movie was shot around Vancouver and Whistler in Canada from May to July 2007. It was scheduled for release on December 14, 2007.
In September 2007, some sites began listing the name of the movie as Thomas Kinkade's Home for Christmas
In early October 2007, it was announced that the movie had experienced delays due to "music licensing and final editing' and would be released in theatres for Christmas 2008.
During mid-2008 it was announced that the film would go straight to DVD with a release date of November 11, 2008.
As of November 2008, there has been no mention on whether the original two sequels will be produced.
