Set around the lives and loves of four friends who work in a sandwich shop in Santa Monica, the movie was written by Betty Morris and directed by David Mackay.
Jensen shot the movie in the break between Season One and Two of Supernatural in May and June 2006. He had previously worked with Danneel Harris, with whom he is currently in a relationship, on Clownana.
