Talk:Weapons Catalogue

Is this page really that necessary? I mean, all it does is document guns used by hunters, specifically the Winchesters.. And that sort of page doesn't make sense to me, so please, enlighten me, or this page will have to go.. -- ImperiexSeed, 3:13 PM, October 8th 2011

The page needs updating, but info on the Winchester weapons is important and used by many people as the 27,000 hits on the page shows. The page remains. --Missyjack 21:30, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for explaining it, and now I have no problem leaving it. -- ImperiexSeed, 8:15 PM, October 8th 2011

Dean's handgun with the mother-of-pearl grips looks kinda like the Colt M1911A1, don't you think? Dean Winchester, shootin shit up old school? His daddy's gun? From the Nam? --Olivia 17:06, 15 October 2006 (PDT)

Honey, I know next to nothing about guns, but I like the sound of what you're saying. I am absolutely sure your guess is a billion times better than mine, so please feel free to go ahead and list these things on the page even if you think it's just an educated guess! :D --Angstslashhope 06:16, 16 October 2006 (PDT)

Under Misc Equipment - does "torch" mean torch? Or flashlight?
Funny how they have wooden stakes in their trunk. Wonder what they're for?  :)

"Torch" is British for "flashlight". I've left "torch" though, as I'm not sure if "flashlight" by itself makes any sense for non-Americans. Similar deal with "knuckledusters" vs "brass knuckles". IsaacSapphire 19:02, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Edit by Kaos: Please adjust if you can find proof that I'm wrong but this is NOT a winchester 1897 shotgun. In the various episodes you can see the end of the shotgun's magazine tube which has a different cap than the 1897 shotgun did. In addition (as I have shot both) the 1897 has a hammer on it while the one in the shot does not. I offer up that the sawed-off pump shotgun most commonly used by Sam and Dean is an Ithaca model 37 with a "corn cob" forearm. Another tip is the difference in the actual length of the magazine tube the 1897 (trench gun) had a longer mag tube, while the ithaca has a smaller one which more closely fit the dimensions of the one on the show. The small sling attachment is also a giveaway as this was a standard feature on an aftermarket (brand name is escaping me) ithaca 37 pistol grip, although an easy DIY modification.

This page is labeled as a stub, should it be? --MisterGlass 15:22, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

what is that weapon in the trunk?

I made the title general in case people would have similar question of UNUSED weapons. So if anyone could tell me what is the gun with the "garande launcher barell" and pistol grip, in the bottom of the trunk's bottom left corner where the pump-action shotgun is standing, I'd be greatful. It was always there until they hanged on the wall of the bat-cave to a very illustrious place.

It is a shame they never actually used it (well, I yet to see season 9-10+).

"Also seen in the trunk are a 37mm DefTech Grenade launcher, Brass Knuckles, a Harpoon gun, Axes, and Nunchucks. However, none of these have ever been used on screen." [1] I hope this helps somebody :) --SamWinchester315 0312(3:12AM) 9/5/2015 (EST)

Should we update this to document the firearms seen in the most recent series? Theres a lot that aren't shown here. --Winchester1911 (talk) 04:17, 23 April 2016 (PDT)

If you want to undertake the task of updating it, feel free. No one is gonna hold you back. Mikael (talk)
I've referenced this page before because I can never remember what type of pistols Sam and Dean carry, but since it's so out of date and there's SO many instances of weapons in the series, I usually go to IMFDB instead. I added the link to this resource on the Weapons & Mystical Artifacts page. If someone (or a group of people) who's interested wants to go through the episodes to update this page through S11, that would be amazing. I know there's a "what clothing does Sam and Dean wear in each episode" page somewhere that's severely outdated, too. The wiki only stays up to date where we fans are interested in keeping it updated. Chitaqua (talk)
