Changed the edit of '2002' (sam leaving for stanford) to 2001/2, to account for differing opinions/canon discrepancies on the date. --Angstslashhope 03:06, 1 March 2007 (PST) so does sam still have physic powers in season 4 or did they go away

Powers & Abilities

OK, I just cut a lot of theory out the psychic powers section. I removed completely Super Strength and Durability. I would ascribe any apparent superhuman durability in Sam to being a TV character; Dean is similarly resilient. I'm slightly less certain about the Super Strength, as I too wondered if that was indicated by his brute-force decapitation of Gordon. However, that's just a guess and there doesn't seem to be any solid cannon evidence to back it up. In general, I removed a lot of supposition. For example, we don't know for sure that Sam wouldn't have developed powers if Azazel hadn't bled on him. IsaacSapphire 07:59, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Removing them was unnecessary. Renaming and rewording them could've been discussed and done, sure. It is accounting his "abilities", which would include his strength (be it supernatural or not). And it is made pretty clear that all of the "Special Children" who developed powers were fed demon blood at infancy. Sam would be powerless had this not occured. He would've just been a normal guy. also, removing the tidbits in the vessel section was also unnecessary. I will restore the section to its previous state and make changes where appropriate. Please refrain from altering the section before discussing it with me first (post your thoughts here). Thank you. Charon 03:10, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

I did not remove your additions wholesale. As a wiki page that is about cannon, this is not the place for supposition, however much you may hold these ideas as personal cannon. However, I have no interest in getting into an edit war, so I shall wait for someone with more authority to come by. IsaacSapphire 04:27, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

You misunderstand me. I too try to maintain canon, and though I admit that my first edit may have contained a little much supposition, it doesn't make what I put in my second edit any less true. Everything in there is what the show has presented us. Charon 23:16, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

5x01

I haven't seen a single other person who's noticed this, but rewatch the bit of 5x01 between Zachariah removing Sam's lungs and Castiel making Zachariah fix it. It's about sixty seconds. First thirty seconds, we see a bit of Sam flopping around and we hear him making noise; next thirty seconds, we see a bit of him lying still and we hear nothing from his direction. Asphyxia takes about three minutes in someone whose lungs are present and functioning normally. —EllieMurasaki 03:25, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
