Revision as of 02:00, 23 November 2006

1. Uh, should I remove all my comments from the list and the intro at the top? The list pretty much speaks for itself, and some of the comments, formatting *cough* etc dated from the list-incarnation where I thought only my f-list was reading it (oops? Sorry...), and it's a group effort now.

2. Any mpreg enthusiasts willing to go through http://community.livejournal.com/mpregwinchester/ and link up everything? I've added a couple. (Because I love my fellow fans. And I'm selfless that way. ;P)

3. Are there enough categories/interest in breaking off a section into a kink-list? I never did that myself because I didn't think it would be comprehensive enough (ie, I usually have to have an interest in a category in order to track it obsessively, and I don't really track bdsm etc), but I have a couple of other categories that could be added to a kink-list, eg threesomes (18), spanking (4) etc. Theoretically there could also be a Crack/Cliche division, but I'm really fuzzy as to where that line actually lies.

4. Hope, what sort of fic do you want in the kidnapping section? Er, sounds like a stupid question, but uh, does kidnapping mean hostage-ish stuff too, like all the all the Shape-shifter!Dean/hostage!sam fic?

Hey.
1. hmm, yup, I'd say remove comments (I've done this a wee bit already, here and there).

2. Oh god. I might have a go of it later. Now that I have time to do WHATEVER I WANT YAY.

3. Hmmmmm. You know, I'd almost say that it's worth doing a separate page for kink, AND one for AU, AND one for crossovers. Because I don't think I'd classify any of those categories as crack - they kind of stand on their own :D and, judging by the volume of the list... I think there's definitely enough there to justify it.
Also, I'm still kind of vaguely pondering the individual pages that exist to explain the background/premise of each of the crack cliches. Normally I'd say that we should list each subheading on their relevant page, but the cracklist is kind of its own beast, now. I might go through and make sure that there's a page for each of the scenarios, and make the cracklist more user-friendly/more than just a list by linking back to the scenario page or somesuch.
Along those same lines, in terms of consistency and organising information... I'm tempted to move CrackList to Crack. It doesn't really make sense to keep the definition/explanation separate from the list itself. What do you think about this? I mean, it would essentially be what Crack looks like now, only with a big subheading - CrackList - with the cracklist there. Moving the page would mean that the stats/redirect/etc would be preserved, too.
I would do the same for AU and Crossover, I think. I kind of like the format of the John/Dean page for the background/etymology/definition followed by the fic links, rather than separating into multiple pages. What do you think?

4. oops, that's right. I just added a couple of fics in there. Hmm. I'm not sure if it needs to include the kind of canonical kidnapping (Skin, The Benders...) - if you take a look at the stories I've linked, you'll see it's very much a crack cliche genre in its usual extreme hurt/comfort or departure-from-original premises. Does that make sense?

1. Cool! Can do that while changing the format.
3. a) Re: Breaking off AU & Crossovers. Ok, definately break those out.
Er, I'm still stuck with slightly OCD-like indecisiveness over crack/cliche/kink break though. Mostly because, should hustler!fic be crack or kink? These are the questions that keep me up at night!
I'm inclined to go with crack... but only because of historical carry-over from other fandoms (i.e. it's usually a crack-AU. Generally in SPN it's uh, not.) Hmmm. Perhaps we could make a note in the crack definition that several genres are almost defaultly classified as 'cracky' not because they're that much more implausible than SPN canon, but because uh, they were in other, older fandoms? E.g. succubi, rentboy etc?
3. b) Hmmm, see I know I like a longer page with sections, rather than lots of little pages (some'd only have a couple of links), but - that's just a personal websurfing-preference. The cracklist is now part of the wiki (and I've got tabbed browsing - I'll live), so if you think it'd be more consistent with the overall wiki to have it broken up, I can deal with that.
