This is probably an idiot noob question, but I'd never heard of audiofic before I came to this fandom (granted, I'd never done a domestic slash fandom before, as opposed to a Japanese yaoi fandom). Could there be a note or link to the history of this practice and whether it's unique to the SPN fandom? (I don't suppose it is, but I really don't know.) IsaacSapphire 19:30, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

it's certainly not unique to spn. If you check out Jinjuly's archive (link on page) - you'll see stuff across many fandoms. There was a burst of podfic in 2006 and things when quiet until 2008. The technology is no a lot better producing much higher quality recordings. I love it and always have some on my ipod. i'll see if i can find anything on its history.--Missyjack 04:02, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
