Updating Dean's page on his death date + Sam's Birthday

I'm wondering if Dean's "recurring character"'s box should be updated to include his death date and subsequent location in Hell. Or is it perhaps too painful to acknowledge this? Of course, will be updated if/when he comes back from Hell.

Also, can we/I/someone update Sam's "recurring character"'s box to include his birthday specifically as "May 2, 1983" in the "Dates" section? Currently it's simply "1983" when the "Basic Stats" section specifies the exact date.

Regular Contributors category?

Should we have a category for those users who contribute regularly/have a specialty/etc? It could simply be a categorisation of their user pages.

Maps for each Season

Using the new GoogleMaps extension, Location Map (Season 1), Location Map (Season 2), Location Map (Season 3) (or - Season 1 Location Map?)

How to Kill the Supernatural

i thought it would be a cool idea to include info on how to dispose of everything supernatural the brothers have encountered all in one place. heres what i got so far, but additions, edits or corrections would be great.

Spirit - Salt and Burn Remains or Otherwise Put at Rest (various episodes but i can list all of them if i need to)

Wendigo - Burn (1.02 Wendigo. Dean shoots it with a flare gun)

Demon - Exorcism (various episodes but i can list all of them if i need to)

Shapeshifter - Silver Bullet or Blade (1.06 Skin, 2,12 Nightshifter. Dean shoots the first one with a silver bullet and Dean stabs the second with a silver letter opener)

Rawhead - Electrocution (1.12 Faith. Dean electrocuts it with a taser)

Reaper - N/A (1.12 Faith, 2.01 In my time of Dying. in Faith Dean says you cant kill death and in 2.01 Sam says if its here naturally theres no way to stop it)

Shtriga - Consecrated Wrought Iron Rounds While Feeding (1.18 Something Wicked. Dean shoots it while it feeds on Sam)

Vampire - Beheading (1.20 Dead Mans Blood, 2.03 Bloodlust, 3.07 Fresh Blood.)

Rakshasa - Brass Blade (2.02 Everybody loves a clown. Sam kills it with a brass pipe from an organ)

Zombie - Nail to Grave Bed (2.04 Children shouldn't play with dead things. Dean nails her to her coffin)

Trickster - Stake Dipped in the Blood of a Victim Through the Heart (2.15 Tall Tales. Dean stabs it although it was only an apparition and not the real thing leaving the trickster alive)

Werewolf - Silver Bullet to the Heart (2.17 Heart. Dean kills the sire werewolf and Sam kills Madison)

Djinn - Silver Blade Dipped in Lamb's Blood (2.20 What is and what should never be. Dean stabs in as it attacks Sam)

Changling - Burn also Burning Mother Will Kill Children (3.02 The kids are alright. Sam burns the mother )

GODS-

Vanir - Burn Sacred Tree (1.11 Scarecrow. Emily burns the tree after escaping the scarecrow)

(Christmas one) - Evergreen Stake (3.08 A very supernatural christmas. Sam kills one and Dean kills one with branches from a christmas tree

CURSES-

Native American Bugs - N/A (1.08 Bugs. In the episode Dean says You dont break the curse, you get out of its way)

Rabbit's Foot - Burn in Cemetary with Cayenne Pepper and Bone Ash (3.03 Bad day at black rock. Sam and Dean destroy it after "convincing" Bela to hand it over)

im unsure of the name of the god in 3.08 but ive read it be something like Holnacar or Hold Nickar. im not very familiar with all the editing and adding stuff so someone would have to creat it for me, assuming it was found acceptable. i can be reached at thay_02@yahoo.com --Thay02

Multi-language Wiki?

Hey. Some days ago I sent an email to the contact adress of this site presenting this idea, however, I didn't get an answer. I'm not sure if you just didn't answer or if it didn't reach you at all. Anyway, my idea is to try and build up one or more non-English versions of this Wiki, possibly based on translations of the articels from the English one. I myself could put some work into a German version, as I'm from Switzerland (the German-speaking part, we have four different languages here^^). It wouldn't be so much because I also have a lot to do for school and these things, but at least something. I think it would be possible to recruit other German-speaking fans who'd participate. As mentioned, I myself couldn't do the job alone, neither translating all the articles nor recruiting so much people to do so, so it is more a idea to think about than an offer. However, if the idea is considered good, I would, of course, do my best :)

Greetings from Switzerland--Fabian 12:20, 23 May 2008 (PDT)

Hi Fabian!
Yup, we got your email and have been discussing the options. Will email you back within the next few days.
Cheers! --Angstslashhope 21:59, 24 May 2008 (PDT)
Great, thank you!

Any decision made so far?--Fabian 13:55, 2 June 2008 (PDT)
I'm afraid my email account doesn't work at the moment, because I haven't gotten any emails at all lately, so I don't know if you did respond or not. Don't wanna be too pushy though. If you like you could send me an email to g.o.d.1991@hotmail.com (I usually don't like giving out that adress because it's quite embarassing with the "god" - I was younger when I created it^^).--Fabian 14:43, 11 June 2008 (PDT)

Just in case anybody's still reading this. I'd still be interested to do it ;)--Fabian 17:05, 12 October 2008 (PDT)

Potential Alternate Meaning for Dean's Amulet

A recommended avenue of research to add to the Amulet article.

The amulet could be a depiction of Ba'al - a deity revered in many ancient cultures. While Ba'al has accrued many negative connotations over the centuries, he began as a deity of fertility. In a myth to explain the cycles of seasons, there was a battle between Ba'al and Mot, a god of death. Mot killed Ba'al and threw him into the underworld. When Ba'al returned to life after his sister Anat followed him into the underworld and killed Mot.

Due to the comments by Jensen Ackles regarding the amulet's potential Egyptian origin, I would focus on the cult worship therein during the New Kingdom. An image of a idol to Ba'al, located on the Baal wiki, here: [1] is similar to the head of Dean's amulet. If it were an amulet of Ba'al, it could be a symbol of protection against destructive forces like Mot or a charm dealing with the many positive attributes of Ba'al himself.

Obviously this is just a skimming of information, someone would need to make a more in depth inquiry to really flesh it out.

Categorizing

Hello, I'm a reader than a usual editor on the wiki, so I'm not familiar with the editing standard. (So please correct me if I'm wrong.) Here is my question: I've notice that some categories are already under certain categories, such as Angels or Demons are already under Characters. In most of the wikipedia-system-based site as far as I know, there is few sites contain the repeat catagory. (Note: Not included are some exceptions, such as Lucifer, who is under both Angels and Demons.) Take Castiel for example, I think his catagory should be

[[Category:Canon]] [[Category:Angels]][[Category:Angel Lore]]

instead of

[[Category:Canon]] [[Category:Characters]][[Category:Angels]][[Category:Angel Lore]]

Any thought or idea is welcome. :D --TX55 03:06, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

New Template And Look

Season six's title card.
Season six's promotional card.

Now that season six is out, and it's much like a fresh start. I think this wiki's look kinda needs a new look to fit the color schemes of season six's promotions (green, blue, teal, maybe a bit of bronze). Like the pictures you see on the sides.

I'm willing to do designs and backgrounds, but I'm just putting the idea out there. Who's with me? --Hdkingdomriku 5:18 10 November 2010

Thansk for the suggestion. We only just redid the who look of the Wiki at the beginning of S5, and so we'll keep this design for awhile I think. cheers --Missyjack 23:47, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

It'd be a great and easy way to ask site-related and SPN-related questions, with a lot of people being able to see the answers, unlike email.

Livejournal Communities - Help request

I'm in the process of updating the Livejournal Communities page, which was quite a few years out-of-date. At this point as many additional communities as could reasonably be found have been assembled into a list. There are 380 of them. All of these communities need: A single-sentence describing the community, a note about when it was last active, and a category assignment. If anyone could lend a hand, please stop by the talk page and say hey! Even just having help with a dozen or two would be wonderful. - Falsealexis 11:04, 17 November 2011 (PST)
