Lynda Bloome, the Head of Sales, describes to Dean how the homes on the new housing estate come with a steam shower. A steam shower combines a normal shower with a humidifying steam generator. Many steam showers include accessories such as sound systems, TV, and foot massagers. Ironically, Lynda dies in her shower when attacked by spiders.
As they're investigating strange deaths in town, Dean convinces Sam that they should stay in a display home overnight so he can try out the steam shower.
- Sam: We’re gonna squat in an empty house?
- Dean: I wanna try the steam shower. Come on.

One of the many ways Dean dies when stuck in a Trickster-induced time loop is by slipping in the shower.

Dean is thrilled to find out that the bunker has a great shower.
- Dean: The, uh, water pressure in the Letters' shower room is marvelous.

When Linda Berman unknowingly covers her face in a zanna's blood—which is invisible to her—Sam and Dean try to subtly suggest she wash it off.
- Dean: A hot shower does wonders.
- Sam: Real deep scrub. [miming washing his face] Purify.
- Linda: ...For Maddie?
- Dean: The whole family! Just get the whole gang in there. Y'know, the family that showers together...
