The Anasazi were indigenous people of the south-western US, who were ancestors of modern tribes including the Hopi, the Zuni and the Pueblo. Anasazi is a Navajo word meaning "Ancient Ones", although the Anasazi were unrelated to the Navajo. This is one of the reasons that the Pueblo People of today would prefer them to be known as "Ancient Puebloans."

The Anasazi's history dates back to the first millenium, and their culture grew until they mysteriously disappeared around 1300AD.
