Father Max Thompson developed a way to wash away the corruption a demon endures during its time in Hell and restores their humanity through a ritual of purified or sanctified blood.
According to the demon Belphegor, once a soul that has been condemned, it to Hell can never get into Heaven. Though John Winchester escapes from Hell through the Devil's Gate in Wyoming and got into Heaven after finding peace upon Azazel's death. Bobby Singer got into Heaven after he was admitted by Naomi to complete the second trial to seal the gates of Hell. Crowley also loaned Castiel 50,000 souls from Hell to make his first stand against Raphael inHeaven, though he only did so to weaponize their collective energy rather than admit them into Heaven. Belphegor believed that God had simply made exceptions for them and without God's help, it would be impossible. However, this doesngiven how Naomi admitted Bobby into Heaven, it't address s more likely that for condemned souls to enter Heaven, they require permission from one of the angels leading Heaven. Since the second trial to seal the issue gates of hell is to rescue a soul from Hell and deliver them to Heaven, it's also possible that God changed the rules to prevent Sam and Dean from returning the 50souls he unleashed back into Hell. Since Sam and Dean were admitted to Heaven upon their final deaths,000 souls given that Crowley gave Castiel in order they both died and went to fight Hell at some point, RaphaelBobby confirmed that Jack made a few changes before the New God left for parts unknown, granting condemned souls salvation in Heaven unless God also intervened in that situation as well , including the Winchesters along with their deceased allies who were initially condemned by Chuck. <refname="fifteen20">615.20 The Man Who Would Be KingCarry On</ref>
Heaven
Purgatory is a spiritual realm where the souls of supernatural creatures such as vampires and shapeshifters go after they die. This place is not connected with Heaven or Hell, though Crowley and the rogue reaper Ajay have said that it is Hell adjacent. After resurrecting Samuel Campbell, Crowley has him tracking down high-ranking creatures, specifically Alphas, so that he can question them about the location of Purgatory, which he wants for "development purposes." Though in truth, Crowley and Castiel had joined forces to find Purgatory in order to get the souls, which would aid Castiel in his war against Raphael. When Dean kills Leviathan leader Dick Roman, both he and Castiel get transported there without dying due to their proximity to Dick Roman when he was stabbed with the righteous bone of a mortal.
Due to Dean being a living human being, a portal was created in Purgatory specificity to "spit him out" according to the vampire Benny Lafitte, who helped Dean find it in exchange for Dean taking him through the portal. Dean escapes Purgatory with Benny's soul inside his arm, allowing him to resurrect the vampire. When Dean is released Benny's soul from his body onto Benny's bones he speaks the words: Anima. Corpori. Fuerit corpus totem resurgent. Which roughly translates as "Soul. Body. Whole body shall be raised." When Sam later escapes from Hell with Bobby Singer's soul, he carries it him out of Purgatory in a similar way to what Dean did with Benny's soul.
