* The lack of usage of the Seal in subsequent uses of the spell suggests that its role is simply to channel the spell to open the rift. With a more experienced witch like Rowena, she can channel it through her hands instead. Sam also doesn't use it in [[15.13 Destiny's Child]] when rescuing [[Sam and Dean Winchester (HunterCorp)|alternate doubles]] trapped between worlds despite the spell being the same aside from the use of [[Castiel]]'s [[grace]] in place of [[archangel]] grace.
