Sam and Dean investigate a recent string of missing persons at the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in Grangeville, Idaho. They stop at a bar for a drink and some chili, and question the bartender, Rose, if she has seen any of the missing hikers. Rose tells Sam and Dean she doesn't recognize anyone in the photos. As Sam and Dean are preparing to leave, Rose tells them to check some cabins in the park for the missing hikers and points out where to find them on a map, hoping to lure Sam and Dean into a trap.

Later that night, Sam and Dean kill two werewolves that were holding Corbin and Michelle Tilghman captive. Rose and another werewolf show up at the cabin, disappointed that the other pack members let themselves be killed, despite having been warned about the Winchesters coming arrival. She tells the other werewolf that they have been burned and need to clean up the mess and get out of town. They spend the rest of the night looking for the Winchesters and the Tilghmans, to no avail. By morning, they have tracked Sam down to a ranger station. Rose's companion is the first to enter, and is able to sniff out that Sam is in the basement. When Rose enters, she hears a loud crash and goes to investigate. Once she reaches the bottom of the stairs, she is quickly killed by Sam.
