Rec Communities

Rec communities provide recommendations on fan creations, primarily fiction, but also art and vids. The major rec communities for Supernatural work are:

• crack_impala is a multimedia community which aims to rec widely across the fandom. The mods are ellipsisblack and shopfront, with a number of "Impalettes" involved in scouring the fandom for the good stuff.

Each day of the week the post focuses on a different theme.

• • Monday: Gen Fiction.
  • Tuesday: Real Person Fiction.
  • Wednesday: Sam/Dean rated G through R.
  • Thursday: Het and Other Slash.
  • Friday: Vids/art/icons/meta/misc.
  • Saturday: Blast From The Past (fics that are more than a month old).
  • Sunday: Sam/Dean rated Hard R and NC-17 (in other words, porn).

• spnroundtable has monthly themed rec posts from guest reccers in to addition sessions where authors and artists talk about their work, as well as chat posts on different topics. The mods are schneestern, oxoniensis) and sori1773.

• spn_themes features regular rec posts focusing on fics connected by a common theme. The community mod is wendy, supported by a team of regular reccers.

• crack_vanis a multi-fandom rec community, where guests rec fic in their fandom for a month. While Supernatural is featured, reccing has become regular as fandom specific comms have grown.
