Rebecca was the leader of a faction of angels known as Penitents. Before the Fall Rebecca was a known associate of Metatron, after the Fall, Rebecca gave up the warring and politics of Heaven, believing that the angels have lost touch of their true mission. Unlike the other angel factions, the Penitents sought to live humbly among the humans, however Rebecca and her followers were all hunted down and killed by Bartholomew, who feared they could grow into a bigger threat down the road.
