In Supernatural, reapers are entities whose responsibility it is to escort newly-deceased souls to the afterlife. They are not aligned with Heaven or Hell, and refuse to tell the deceased what awaits them.
Abilities:
- Are invisible to the human eye unless they're coming directly at a person. (Source: 1.12 Faith)
- Can be seen by humans in spirit or astral projection form. (Source: 2.01 In My Time of Dying and 4.15 Death Takes A Holiday)
- Can stop time (Source: 1.12 Faith
- Can alter human perception to make themselves appear anyway they want (Source: 2.01 In My Time Of Dying)
- According to Castiel, Reapers gather in groups "at times of great catastrophe," and lists the Chicago Fire of 1871, the San Francisco Earthquake of 1906, and the destruction of Pompeii as examples. (Source: 5.10 Abandon All Hope)
