Raoul

Raoul is Demian’s imaginary recapping partner on Television Without Pity.

Originally all Show pages at Television Without Pity had clipart graphics from Glark, and Supernatural's was a dragon. He became known as the “Big Gay Dragon” or the “Big Gay Supernatural Dragon”, an idea sparked by this comment made by Demian:

Anyway, the only reason I came in here was to express my love for the graphic Glark chose for the Supernatural section. That is the gayest dragon I've ever seen in my life. It's like he's flapping his hands around in the air and screaming, "My pot roast!" December 15, 2005 Source

Raoul’s name was selected by TWoP members in the "Name That Dragon!" poll in October 2006.

In the recaps, Raoul is presented as having an affinity for gore (or, as Raoul would prefer, GORE!). Raoul frequently mentions his imaginary husband, 24’s Jack Bauer, whose show is also dripping with gore. Raoul became quite attached to the flaming Supernatural title card for season two – he exclaims “Eeeeeeeeeeeee!” when the title card pops up in nearly every season two episode recapped.

In September, 2007 all the show-related clip art images, including Raoul, disappeared from TWOP during a re-design of the site when it was taken over by the Bravo unit of NBC Universal. Raoul still features in the show recaps.

When dragons appeared on Supernatural in 6.12 Like a Virgin, Raoul appeared in the recap, not as a commentator, but as a part of the episode. In the version of the episode presented in the recap, Raoul is responsible for the kidnappings. He has been taking the girls for spa treatments and general pampering. Raoul returns to his usual recapping role in the next episode.
