10.09 The Things We Left Behind
Randy had incurred $5,000 worth of debt to a loan shark named Salinger. Dustin works at Wiener Hut to make money for them, and Claire regularly steals as much money as she can. After Claire returns from being locked away in a Youth Transition Center, she gives him $200 which she stole from Castiel who had broken her out. Randy is disappointed and tells them that the loan shark Salinger is coming to collect the money that night. Claire desperately asks what more can be done and Dustin mentions what he and Randy had been discussing—to rob a Gas-N-Sip. He comments that if he had still been under 18 years of age, he would do it himself. Claire agrees to do it. Randy talks her through the plan, giving her a pistol before making her promise to come back alive since she and Dustin are the only family he has.
After her job is interrupted by Castiel, Sam, and Dean, Claire returns to Randy's house to find him tied to a chair by Salinger and his men. Salinger offers Randy a deal—if Randy handed over Claire to him, his debts would be forgotten. At first, Randy refuses, stating that Claire is family. Salinger mocks Randy, telling him that he sees through his "proud papa" act. He offers the deal again, and Randy agrees.
As Salinger attempts to rape Claire in the next room, Sam, Dean, and Castiel arrive and Castiel and Sam take Claire away. However, Salinger and his men try to beat Dean up. The Mark of Cain is activated by this violence, and Dean ends up slaughtering Salinger, his men, and Randy.
10.10 The Hunter Games
Castiel feels guilty about how Claire's life has turned out, and Sam tells him they did the right thing because all Randy did was use Claire. Castiel tells Sam that although Randy used Claire, he didn't deserve to get slaughtered by Dean. Sam agrees.
Later, when Castiel visits Claire in her hotel room, Claire is packing to leave. She tells him that he killed her father, and then Dean killed the closest thing she had to family—Randy. Castiel reminds her that whilst she was almost getting raped, Randy didn't make a move to help her. Claire defends Randy, telling Castiel he was at gunpoint and couldn't do anything and that Dean is a monster for what he did.
After she leaves Castiel, Claire befriends a woman named Brit and a man named Tony in a bar who she vents to, telling them that Randy was like a father to her.
Worried about Claire, Castiel asks Dean to have a talk with Claire to help her see how much danger she was in whilst she was around Randy. Meanwhile, Claire is still with Brit and Tony when Dean leaves her a voicemail asking to talk. Brit asks why Dean killed Randy in the first place, and Claire tells her that he had no connection to him or the other men he slaughtered that night. She explains how she just saw him standing there afterwards, covered in blood and looking like he'd enjoyed it.
