History
Purgatory Weapons are axe-like blades found in Purgatory. They are fashioned out of obsidian and bone, wood, or horns, and capable of decapitation. They have been seen to be used mostly by vampires, and it has been shown to be the weapon of choice for both Dean and Sam Winchester during their two separate excursions in Purgatory; as well as the vampire Benny Lafitte. Dean's weapon resembles a hatchet with a long blade, Benny's blade appears to resemble an Aztec Macuahuitl or Mācuāhuitzōctli, and Sam's blade is a curved obsidian blade with a deer's antler.
