13.19 Funeralia
Naomi reveals herself to be alive and one of the few remaining angels in Heaven. She tells a questioning Castiel that she had a few trustworthy angels spread the news that she was dead while she had been recovering for the past five years and reassembling her memories. Castiel is quick to not trust her, but when she reveals that there are only nine angels in Heaven (including both of them) as well as one or two on Earth, Heaven is starting to power down and is at risk of crumbling with so few angels to power it. Punctuating her point that when the angels eventually burn out from the strain, Heaven will cease to exist, releasing billions upon billions of souls onto the world and unleashing mass chaos and death. Naomi tells Castiel that his news that Gabriel is alive was "blessed," stating that with the power of an archangel, Heaven would be able to continue to operate if Gabriel returns.
