The motels in particular have become a signature of the show , with each one have having a different theme , and the set detail often containing contains in-jokes that only the most dedicated fan will get. Jensen said of the motel rooms: "Jerry Wanek's just a crazy guy, and likes to use his talents when he gets the ability to, and the motel rooms are his passion. The second motel: The basketball and tyre tire room divider is significant because they are in Indiana. Indiana is well know known for Basketball basketball and Speedway speedway motor racing (Indy 500 and NASCAR). The room is decorated with basketball teams and games.
The second motel has a heap of prop re-uses: The orange lamp is also seen in [[4.06]] and [[6.08]].
