Mama Bear was a “proof of concept” action-short produced and directed by Matt Cohen and starring his wife Mandy Musgrave, with a script by Lee Ehlers. It also featured a number Supernatural actors including Jeffrey Vincent Parise, Richard Speight, Kim Rhodes, Jim Beaver, Brianna Buckmaster, David Hayden-Jones, Adam Fergus, Gabe Tigerman, and also Jason Manns.

The plot is described as :

When an accident leaves her dying son with 24 hours to get a new liver, a seemingly average soccer mom must reveal her hidden past and hunt down the only matching donor - her ex husband - the world's worst criminal.

The project was funded through a crowd-fundraising campaign on Indiegogo which launched in October 2018.

Mama Bear was entered at a number of film festivals. In April 2019 it won Best Action Film from the Hollyshorts Film Festival and in June 2020 it won “Best Short” and “Best Actor” for Jeffrey Vincent Parise at the Santa Monica Webfest.

It was available for a time to view via pay per view on Vimeo.

UPDATE 2021 At Salute to Supernatural Nashville 2021, Matt announced that the film was in development, and the short was no longer available online due to contractual obligations.
