Two years after the Winchesters last saw him, Kevin's ghost was called in by [[God]] to vouch for Him with the Winchesters. Kevin insists that the Winchesters can trust Chuck and lets them know that for a dead guy, he's doing fine. Telling Kevin that he's spent enough time in the Veil already, God causes Kevin's [[soul]] to finally ascend to its rightful place in [[Heaven]].
After God released all of the souls of Hell upon the Earth, Kevin returned as one of the [[Hell Ghosts]], revealing that God had cast him to Hell instead of Heaven as he had claimed. Due to being cast to Hell by God himself, Kevin gained a measure of influence over the souls of Hell during his time in the Pit. After learning that being cast into Hell meant that he could never go to Heaven, Kevin chose to wander the Earth as an untethered ghost despite the risk that he would one day go crazy, seeing it as preferable to an eternity of torture in Hell.
