Yeah, well if this is the Skymall, then it sucks. Where's the triplets and the latex, you know? Come on, a guy has needs.

Dean, 5.16 Dark Side Of The Moon

Heaven in Supernatural is a spiritual realm that has been mentioned in relation to where a human soul ends up if allowed. Heaven is also the realm where God and Angels reside.

Characteristics

Angels are able to communicate with their Vessels from Heaven. Castiel proved this when he was talking to Jimmy Novak from Heaven asking for his permission to possess him. Jimmy consented to Castiel but he asked that his family would be protected during his absence. All angels have superiors (angels who hold more power and authority than the lower-ranking angels). For example: Anna once had superiority over Castiel and Uriel. Uriel was later promoted as Castiel's superior. Angels can be summoned back to Heaven by their superiors.

According to Zachariah, he was greatly respected by all of his angel colleges. He said that long ago when he paced through the Halls of Heaven his fellow angels look upon him with satisfaction and respect. He implied the reason for his great reputation was due to his consistent successes when he finished his missions/duties. But then he was given the task of the Millennium. This task was having Dean Winchester consent to an archangel whose name is Michael. That particular task involved Zachariah having a lot of patients and perseverance. When he failed to do so, his reputation decreased dramatically. He said that his colleges were drawn to his failure and laughing at him. He even admitted that they were right to do so. Following another failure with Dean, this time in Heaven, he is sidelined by Michael. Michael then allows him a final chance to recruit Dean using Adam as bait to lure Dean to Zachariah, but during this plan Dean kills Zachariah using an Angel Killing Sword.

Anna is now dead. Michael incinerated her entire body till it turned to pure ash. This happened in episode 5.13 The Song Remains The Same. After Castiel turned Anna in, she immediately experienced the judgment of Heaven (Anna was disciplined and tortured). Castiel also faced "Heaven's persuasion" as he called it as he was dragged back when he was about to tell Dean that the angels were actually intent on starting the Apocalypse instead of stopping it. Castiel was set free after he promised to follow orders (a promise he ended up not keeping). Anna some-how escaped heaven, but Cass says no one escapes unless they are let out. angels draw their angelic powers/abilities from Heaven. Shortly after Castiel's rebellion, he was cut-off from most of his angelic powers, one of which included the ability to heal. In episode 5.22 Swan Song, Castiel was destroyed by an enraged Lucifer. God revived Castiel and also enhanced his angelic capabilities. Castiel could very well be an Archangel as of now (due to his promotion and his newly granted power). Castiel in now the Viceroy of Heaven. He says that Heaven has become an anarchy with Michael gone. It could be noted that at the end of episode 5.22 Swan Song, God (Chuck) was writing and than all of the suddenly and unexpectedly He vanished into a strong aura of light. One could assume that He decided to return Home. However this is still classified as being unknown.

See you gotta stop thinking about Heaven as one place – tis more like a buttload of places, all crammed together.

Ash, 5.16 Dark Side Of The Moon

In 5.16 Dark Side Of The Moon, Sam and Dean are killed and find themselves in Heaven. They find themselves moving along the "axis mundi" from one happy memory to another. When they meet Ash, he explains that everyone has their own “heaven”, and at the center of all of them is “the garden”. Most people can’t leave their own “heaven”, although Ash has worked out a way to do so. He says that some people do share their Heaven - people who are soulmates.

According to Ash, angels currently run and manage Heaven and the people in it. One being Zachariah, Castiel's superior. The other being the Archangel Michael. Raphael told Dean that he could take him to Michael, suggesting that Raphael has the power to carry a human soul to Heaven without killing the human.

It is unknown how a human soul is allowed salvation in heaven possibly that is up to God.

When another spiritual being such as: Angels, Archangels and Cherubs are banished or "cut-off" they are not allowed back no matter how powerful they are. However Michael has he power to terminate any angel's position on the Host, and if he so chooses he even restore an angel's position on the host after they've been kicked off the Host - Michael restored Zachariah's position on the Host. Even when the Archangel Gabriel cut himself off from heaven he didn't mention whether or not he was let back in.

Other people Ash has met in heaven are Johnny Cash, Andre the Giant, Einstein, Pamela and Mallanāga Vātsyāyana who wrote the Karma Sutra.

The Garden

The Garden is located in a special part of Heaven. According to the angel Joshua, some refer to it as God's Throne Room, while others refer to it as Eden.
