When demons send Hellhounds after the demon Brady in 5.20 The Devil You Know, Crowley appears with his own hellhound, which fights the other hounds while Sam, Dean and Brady make an escape is made.
Crowley later summons the hound when Bobby has trapped the demon in order to force a deal to retreive his soul in 6.04 Weekend at Bobby's. When the hound appears Crowley offers his own deal: "Ten years of living, or ten years as Alpo."
Although its origin is unclear, the hound has been called Growley in fanfic, and it was also mentioned by a fan to Mark Sheppard at Asylum 6 2011 Source.
Crowley is also sometimes used as the mashup pairing name for fanworks featuring aSlash relationship between Crowley and Gabriel.
