History

Greed is a black-eyed demon and one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Her origins are unknown, but she existed as a demon with her six companions before the 16th century and has been trapped in Hell with them since the Dark Ages; it is hinted that she may have encountered Ruby while in Hell. Azazel means for Greed to be a soldier in Sam Winchester's army, but after the army is freed from Hell at the cost of Azazel's life, Greed and the other Sins begin operating as an independent group, only caring about causing death and suffering to entertain themselves.

Characteristics

Greed has black eyes (irises and sclerae). She possesses a woman and acts as a waitress at the bar the Seven Deadly Sins visit, even serving Isaac and Tamara when they're there, before the hunters realize she is a demon.

Powers and abilities

• Greed does not demonstrate any powers, but can be assumed to possess powers equivalent to the other Seven Deadly Sins, with her special power being the ability to compel people to deadly acts of greed.

• Greed can be hurt by holy water.
• Greed cannot cross an intact salt-line.
• It is heavily implied that devil's traps are effective on Greed.
• Greed can be killed by Ruby's Knife.

2.22 All Hell Breaks Loose: Part Two

Greed (and the rest of the Seven Deadly Sins) is later revealed to be among the hundred or more demons seen escaping Hell through the open Devil's Gate in this episode. Like the other demons, she appears as demon smoke.

3.01 The Magnificent Seven

Greed joins the other Sins in hanging out at a local bar while causing the deaths of humans through their power to incite deadly sin. Hunters Tamara and Isaac identify Envy as the demon behind the deaths and plan to capture him at the bar when they track him to it. Greed masquerades as a normal waitress and politely serves them drinks while they make their plans. When the hunters move to attack Envy, however, Greed reveals herself a demon as well and attacks them alongside the other Sins. After Gluttony forces Isaac to kill himself, Sam, Dean, and Bobby intervene, fending off Greed and the other Sins with holy water and capturing Envy before escaping.

Greed and the rest of the remaining Sins track the hunters down in attempt to rescue Envy, and when Wrath tricks Tamara into breaking the salt-line to let his comrades in, they separate to attack all four remaining hunters. Greed, Gluttony, and Pride confront Sam, their intended leader, as a group, meaning to kill him. Instead the three of them are killed by Ruby with her knife. After Ruby kills Gluttony, Greed turns around and recognizes her. Infuriated, she attacks Ruby to retaliate, but Ruby manages to kill her by stabbing her in the chest; Greed's unnamed meatsuit is killed in the process.
