Future!Dean is a version of Dean 5 years into the future of 2009. In 2012 Lucifer's minions re-released the Croatoan demon virus - in this post-apocalyptic world, most humans have been reduced to mindless zombies. Dean, escaping the virus zone that is Kansas City, naturally goes looking for Bobby Singer, but finds his house deserted. In a hidden drawer, he finds Bobby's journal, in which he discovers a picture of himself as well as Castiel and a couple of other people, decked out in survival and hunting gear at Camp Chitaqua. Future Dean said the "Big Yes" to Michael however it was too late because The Host of Heaven and all of the Angels gave up and left.
Dean goes looking for the camp shown in the picture, and finds the Metallicar rotting away. He's clubbed over the head by Future!Dean, who then ties him up. Dean finds, that Future!Dean has become ruthless, going even so far as to use his friends as canon fodder to defeat Lucifer, who now uses Sam as his vessel. In a confrontation with Lucifer, Future!Dean is killed.
