History
Francis Tumblety was an Irish-born American medial quack, who was also known by the name Jack the Ripper, and was responsible for a murder spree in Whitechapel, London, in 1888. His preferred victims were women, all of whom were prostitutes.
At some point in time in the past, Tumblety had a dalliance with Rowena, whom he decided to let live.

The Real Francis Tumblety
The real Francis Tumblety was born in Ireland, and his family emigrated to the United States when he was a child. He worked as a physician, known for creating and selling his own medicines. He traveled back to England and Europe a number of times and lived in Whitechapel at the time of the killings attributed to Jack the Ripper.
