A fetish is an object that people believe to have supernatural powers, or power over others. While objects in many religions fall under this definition, it is more commonly used to describe items used in West African religions, Voodoo and some Native American religions.
A fetish is usually a hand-carved or otherwise constructed object. It may be adorned with animal parts such as claws, teeth or fur, plant products, or human ingredients such as blood or hair.
