History

Fenrir Odensbane was a son of Loki, and close friends with Gabriel, who after faking his death sought asylum with Fenrir and his brothers Sleipnir and Narfi in Monta Carlo, where the four partied with porn stars. When the Apocalypse was looming and it appeared that Lucifer would be victorious, Fenrir, along with his brothers, bound and kidnapped Gabriel on orders of his father and sold him off to the Prince of Hell Asmodeus.

Fenrir is also worshiped by a cult of werewolves known as the Maw of Fenris, who believe that Fenrir will lead to the creation of a world ruled by werewolves when he instigates Ragnarök.

Characteristics

Fenrir appears as a large Scandinavian man, whose "demigod" face is that of a wolf. Fenrir has the ability to transform, much like a werewolf -- large wolf-like fangs grow from his mouth, and his hands sprout large claws. Unlike proper werewolves, Fenrir's eyes change to a blue color and he can only be killed with a special wooden sword to the heart.

Episodes

13.20 Unfinished Business

Fenrir walks down a dark alley guzzling a bottle of liquor when he hears a strange sound echo through the alleyway. As he looks around for the source, his name is called by Gabriel who steps out from behind a dumpster playing a kazoo. As the two slowly approach each other, Fenrir says he assumes Gabriel has not come to apologize, as he throws his bottle to the side. Gabriel produces a wooden sword, promising to kill Fenrir with honor and no tricks. Fenrir transforms into his wolf form and attacks Gabriel, slashing at him with his claws. Gabriel is able to dodge most of the attacks but his hand gets slashed, causing him to bleed, which Fenrir notices is unusual for an archangel. The two continue to battle until Gabriel is able to stab Fenrir in the heart, killing him and getting slashed on his side in the process. As he stands over Fenrir's dead body, he crosses his name off of a list with his own blood.

Later, Fenrir's body is found by his brothers Narfi and Sleipnir, who remark that he died as he lived, "side by side with a bottle." As Narfi laments the lack of respect for his brother's death, Sleipnir points out that Fenrir got a few hits in before his death. Narfi tastes Gabriel's blood and realizes that he killed Fenrir. After Sleipnir contacts their father, they track Gabriel down to a motel.

Trivia

Fenrir in Lore

In Norse mythology Fenrir (also known as Fenris) is a monstrous wolf and son of the trickster god Loki. During Ragnarök it is foreseen by Odin that Fenrir will kill him, and that Fenrir himself will be slain by the god of vengeance Vidar. Because of these prophesies the Norse gods bound Fenrir in hopes of preventing their downfall.
