One night in the year of 1972, a priest was preparing to close up St. Mary's Convent for the night, when a Demon named Azazel made his way to the convent, and after catching the priest off guard he managed to possess him and Azazel took over his body. When the priest was dispossessed he even remembered the demons name "Azazel" according to the local newspaper that Sam read to Ruby. While he was possessed he told eight nuns the story of Lucifer's fall. He also told them that "he felt like he has been wandering the Desert for years searching for his father." After his story he killed every nun. After every nun was killed he took the Head Nun's body and took it to the alter and requested for Lucifer to whisper through the door, within a few seconds Lucifer obliged and through The Nun's dead body Lucifer told Azazel to find a special child, in other words Lucifer was talking about Sam.
