Fandom Wank by paranormalAveneue

Wank refers to any online fandom related arguement which escalates from a small disagreement to a full blown online war, especially characterised by hyperbole, self-righteousness and a total lack of humour.

Fandom Wank was an online community dedicated to the mocking of over-seriousness, ridiculousness, and general stupidity within the various media fandoms. The site's tagline was "Mock. Mockmockmock. Mockity-mock-mock because we think "Fandom is Fucking Funny" is not taking it far enough".

Wank reporting would commence with an anonymous post at wank_report on Livejournal or Clairvoyant Wank on journalfen. These often started while the wank was in progress. and often provided post summaries or screencaps, due to the tendency for people to delete or later lock wank-related posts. Someone would then collated links to posts related the wank, and provided a handy - often hilarious - summary of the events. It had a set of rules about the posting of wanks in order to try and make things - less wanky.

Supernatural featured regularly on Fandom Wank. Obviously many wonderful wanks have sadly gone undocumented, but those captured here capture some A grade outrages. Fandom Wank closed in 2015, and was deleted so the links below are to archives of the original posts. Many of the links within the posts to fan journals are now dead, but you can still enjoy much of the drama!
