Demigods are typically the offspring of a god and a mortal human, though the Norse pantheon of gods were known to mate with the jötunn and other species. The abilities of demigods vary depending on the parents. Demigods like conceived by two deities or mythological creatures, such as those in the Norse pantheon show , display certain abilities, and share a weakness to special wooden stakes. Demigods conceived through the union of a god and a human like [[Oliver]] and [[Pax]] display no signs of godhood; the demigod Oliver merely inherited his father [[Prometheus]]'s [[curse]].
