It's very unseemly, making deals with devils.
A deal is a formal agreement, usually one made between a human and a supernatural entity. It requires consent from both parties. There are no restrictions on who can make a deal; even children have made them. Demons are usually involved, but deals have been made with ghosts and angels and even gods. The reasons for making a deal vary. For example a deal may allow a human to gain or achieve something not possible by natural means, or it may permit the person to save someone. To complete a deal, something significant must be exchanged. The two most common options are a human life or a human soul.
Souls are particularly valued in deals. The primary occupation of crossroads demons is to secure human souls for Hell. They seal a deal with a kiss, and set a strict time limit, usually ten years, on the life of the person who makes the deal. At the end of the agreed-upon period, hellhounds are sent to kill the damned person. Once in Hell, souls are tormented and twisted until they become demons themselves.
At least one angel, Balthazar, has bargained for a soul. Most deals made between angels and humans involve consent to serve as a vessel. The details of most of these arrangements are covered in the individual entries of the humans who serve as, and could serve as, vessels, though special cases may be discussed here.
While souls are a common currency in transactions, services and favors may also be traded. And while the terms of a deal may appear explicit, ulterior motives and manipulation can complicate deals and create new, unforeseen traps. Most deals do not end well for the human involved.
It was revealed in 9.06 Heaven Can't Wait that in Crowley's absence, Abaddon has been voiding all contracts and taking the souls before their time is up, effectively doubling the amount of souls entering Hell.

Mary Winchester
In many ways, Mary's deal is the most important because it triggers so much subsequent tragedy, and a number of other deals. During 4.03 In the Beginning, Dean is sent back in time by angels to witness Azazel's first contact with his family. Mary Campbell is a hunter, like her father Samuel, and she becomes involved in an investigation of demonic activity. Azazel is responsible, and after encountering Mary, he seeks to make a deal with her by killing her parents and her fiance, John. He offers to bring John back in exchange for the right to enter their house in ten years' time. He promises that no one will be harmed if he is not interrupted. Mary agrees, they kiss, and John is restored. Dean tries to prevent the deal, but cannot.
Mary and John marry, have Dean, and then Sam. The day Sam turns six months old, Azazel enters their home, as depicted in 1.01 Pilot and 2.21 All Hell Breaks Loose: Part One. He goes to Sam's nursery, cuts himself, and drips his blood into Sam's mouth. Mary catches him and tries to interfere, but Azazel stops her, pinning her to a wall and then the ceiling, and slicing open her abdomen. When John enters the nursery, he sees Mary suspended from the ceiling, and flames burst out around her.
Sam becomes one of the Special Children, and John becomes a hunter.
John Winchester
A serious car wreck at the end of 1.22 Devil's Trap leaves Dean in a coma. John summons Azazel in a desperate attempt to save Dean in 2.01 In My Time of Dying. He offers the demon The Colt, but Azazel wants more. John agrees to his terms, and Azazel possesses the reaper Tessa to put Dean's spirit back in his body. John visits Dean's room to confirm that his son is alive and well. He attempts to make peace with both his boys, then goes back to his own hospital room to settle with Azazel. Sam finds John dead, and the Colt missing.
John: So we have a deal.
Azazel: No, John, not yet. You still need to sweeten the pot.
John: With what?
Azazel: There's something else I want, as much as that gun. Maybe more.
While both his sons suspect John of having made a deal, their suspicions are not confirmed until 2.08 Crossroad Blues, when a crossroads demon taunts Dean with the knowledge that his father is being tormented in Hell. John manages to escape Hell when the Devil's Gate in Wyoming is opened in 2.22 All Hell Breaks Loose: Part Two. His spirit dissipates, possibly going to Heaven.
In 4.16 On the Head of a Pin, Alastair reveals that the demons wanted John's soul because they are intent on breaking the 66 Seals. They must begin by getting a righteous man to torture souls in Hell. However, they were unsuccessful with John, who withstood one hundred years of torment and then escaped.
Dean Winchester
Don't you see a pattern here? Dad's deal, my deal, now this? I mean every time one of us is-is-is up the creek the other is begging to sell their soul.
Dean has been involved in at least nine deals, and has been the subject of others. After John sacrifices himself in the deal with Azazel to save his son, Dean is wracked by guilt and the feeling that he should not be alive. He is initially unsympathetic to a group of people who made deals in 2.08 Crossroad Blues, as their deals purely benefited them and nobody forced them to sell their souls, but relents when he discovers that one of them, Evan Hudson, made a deal to save his wife from cancer rather than (as Dean initially assumed) to make her fall in love with him. Dean goes so far as to summon a crossroads demon in an attempt to save Evan. The demon refuses to cancel Evan's deal until Dean manages to trap her beneath a devil's trap and starts an exorcism. He trades her freedom for Evan's soul, and kisses her to make the deal official. Dean nearly goes back on his end of the deal, but breaks the trap in the end and lets the demon go.
Dean's second demon deal is made to resurrect Sam, who is killed by Jake Talley at the end of 2.21 All Hell Breaks Loose: Part One. Distraught, Dean goes to a crossroads at the beginning of 2.22 All Hell Breaks Loose: Part Two. The crossroads demon agrees to bring back Sam, but refuses to give Dean the ten years he asks for. He tries to bargain, but she will not give him more than one additional year of life. She further insists that if he makes any attempt to circumvent the deal, it will be voided, and Sam will die. Dean agrees. Throughout Season Three, Sam tries to find ways of releasing his brother from his deal. He even summons and then kills the crossroads demon that made the deal during 3.05 Bedtime Stories, but the deal is held by another demon, Lilith. None of Sam and Dean's efforts are successful, and Dean is killed by hellhounds at the end of his year in 3.16 No Rest for the Wicked. In 4.16 On the Head of a Pin, Alastair reveals that Dean, like his father, was intended to break the first of The 66 Seals. The demons are more successful with Dean, who gives in after several decades of torment and agrees to begin torturing souls. This may be considered another deal in and of itself.
Dean is freed from Hell by Castiel, and throughout Season Four tries unsuccessfully to prevent the rise of Lucifer. During Season Five, Dean and Sam both work to return Lucifer to his prison, and eventually discover that this can be achieved using the rings of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and with Sam's consent to be Lucifer's vessel. They are able to obtain three of the rings by force, but the fourth ring requires a different arrangement. In 5.21 Two Minutes to Midnight, Crowley takes Dean to Chicago to acquire Death's ring, and arms him with Death's Scythe. Death takes the scythe from Dean without effort, then invites him to sit down to pizza. Death offers to give Dean his ring, but only if Dean agrees to let Sam sacrifice himself to re-imprison Lucifer. Dean reluctantly agrees, and Death gives him the ring.
Dean makes a second deal with Death in season six, after Sam's body has been returned to Earth without his soul. Dean believes correctly that Death could return Sam's soul. He goes to a disreputable doctor in 6.11 Appointment in Samarra to have his heart stopped. During his near-death experience, Dean tries to bargain with Death to return both of his brothers from Lucifer's Cage. Death says he will return Sam's soul if Dean agrees to wear his ring and act as Death for 24 hours. He cannot under any circumstances remove the ring. Dean agrees, and is resuscitated. He puts on the ring and is escorted on his rounds by Tessa, but he refuses to carry out all of the duties he is given and disaster results. Dean takes the ring off to prevent further tragedy, and loses the deal. However, Death returns and is pleased that Dean has learned a lesson about natural order. He agrees to return Sam's soul, because he wants them to continue to investigate the strange soul-related events that are happening.
In 7.22 There Will Be Blood, Dean and Sam summon Crowley in order to get his blood, and he offers them a deal: get all of the other pieces necessary for the leviathan-killing weapon and he will give them the blood last as he doesn't want it falling into the wrong hands. Dean is the one to make the deal and Crowley ultimately follows through on it despite his own deal with Dick Roman, allowing Dean to kill Dick with the aid of Castiel.
In 8.01 We Need to Talk About Kevin, Dean makes a deal with the vampire Benny while in Purgatory. Benny saves him from another vampire and reveals that he knows a way out of Purgatory that only humans can use, apparently created as a safeguard by God in case a human got trapped in Purgatory. The deal is that if Benny leads Dean out, Dean will take Benny's soul with him back to Earth. With no other choice, Dean reluctantly agrees on the condition that they find Castiel and take him out too. While Castiel doesn't make it out with him, Dean succeeds in escaping and keeps up his end of the deal by carrying Benny's soul out in his arm and then to Benny's grave in Louisiana, where he performs a spell that resurrects Benny.
In 8.23 Sacrifice, Dean agrees to a deal Crowley offers: to stop killing people they've saved in exchange for stopping the Trials and trading the demon tablet for the angel tablet rather than just giving Crowley the demon tablet as he wants. Meeting in the remains of Bobby's scrapyard, Crowley demands to make the deal with Sam as he is doing the trials, but Dean demands to examine the contract first. Dean uses this as an excuse to get close to Crowley and get him in handcuffs tying him to Dean with a devil's trap on the cuffs binding Crowley's powers and trapping him. Dean reveals that the deal was actually a trick to capture Crowley so they could use him for the third trial.
In 9.01 I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here, desperate to save Sam, Dean makes a deal with the angel Gadreel who claims to be Ezekiel: he will let Gadreel possess Sam and heal him from the inside while allowing Gadreel to recuperate from his own injuries. As part of the deal, Gadreel will remain secretly in the background and allow Sam to be in control while erasing his memory of the truth so he won't reject Gadreel. Once Sam is healed, Gadreel will leave Sam for a new vessel. For a while, Gadreel keeps his end of the deal, only coming out when Sam was in danger or Dean needed his help, but he eventually breaks his word to work as Metatron's lieutenant in restoring Heaven. Ultimately, Gadreel is expelled by Sam after he learns the truth.
In 9.10 Road Trip, desperate to save Sam from his possession by Gadreel, Dean makes another deal with Crowley: help him expel Gadreel and he will give him his freedom temporarily, allowing him to move around, though held in check with binding handcuffs. Despite their best efforts in expelling Gadreel, they initially fail, but Crowley eventually succeeds by briefly possessing Sam and making him aware of the situation, allowing him to expel the angel which he does in exchange for his full freedom. Afterwards, Dean keeps up his end of the deal and lets Crowley go, but warns that if they meet again, he will kill him.
Sam Winchester
Sam has twice been the subject of deals made by his brother Dean. He is resurrected by Dean's deal in 2.22 All Hell Breaks Loose: Part Two, and re-ensouled by Dean's deal in 6.11 Appointment in Samarra. Sam has attempted to make his own deals, beginning in 3.05 Bedtime Stories. In this episode he threatens a crossroads demon with the Colt, offering to let her live if she will release Dean. She says that she cannot, and will not cooperate, so Sam kills her. After Dean's death, Sam tries to make his own deal to change places with Dean, but the crossroads demon he summons refuses to make a deal. Sam kills him too, as implied in 4.09 I Know What You Did Last Summer.
After Dean returns from Hell, Sam feels increasingly that it is up to him to set things right and stop Lilith from freeing Lucifer. In 4.18 The Monster at the End of This Book, Lilith approaches Sam with a deal to end their fighting and maintain the status quo. Sam says he will agree, but tries to kill Lilith instead. He later comments that he never believed that Lilith would adhere to any deal they made, speculating that she would have found some loophole allowing her to continue to hunt them. Their confrontation is interrupted by the arrival of the prophet Chuck and the interference of his archangel.
After the release of Lucifer and the exhaustion of avenues to defeat him, Sam makes a deal with Lucifer to serve as his vessel: If Sam could resist him, then he would jump into his Cage, but if Lucifer won then he could use Sam as his vessel to fight Michael at Stull Cemetery. Sam eventually wins out, and re-imprisons Lucifer.
Sam is offered another deal by the Leprechaun in 6.09 Clap Your Hands If You Believe.... His soul is trapped in Lucifer's Cage, and the Leprechaun offers to return it if Sam will agree not to banish the fairies who are wreaking havoc. Sam refuses the deal, telling Dean later that he did it because deals have never turned out well. Sam summons the angel Balthazar in 6.11 Appointment in Samarra to find out how to prevent his soul from being returned by Dean's deal with Death, believing that the damage his soul has sustained in the Cage would destroy him if it was returned. He agrees to be in the angel's debt when Balthazar gives him a spell. Dean prevents Sam from completing the spell, and his soul is returned. Balthazar never calls in the debt before he is killed by Castiel, which clears the debt.
In 8.19 Taxi Driver, Sam makes a deal with rogue reaper Ajay to be transported to and from Hell so he can rescue an innocent soul and release it into Heaven to complete the second trial to close the gates of Hell. Ajay agrees to transport Sam if the Winchesters will do a favor for him at a future time. Instead of transporting Sam directly to Hell, Ajay brings him to Purgatory, where there is a portal that acts as a backdoor so he can sneak in on his own, and tells him to meet him at the exact spot he dropped him off at in exactly 24 hours. Unfortunately, Crowley kills Ajay, preventing him from picking up Sam and Bobby Singer so Sam ends up having to find another way out of Purgatory with Benny's help.
In 8.23 Sacrifice, in order to save Sheriff Jody Mills and all the other people he and Dean have saved, they make a deal with Crowley. The deal is that in exchange for Crowley stopping, Sam and Dean will stop the Trials and trade the demon tablet for the angel tablet rather than just give Crowley the demon tablet as he wants. The three meet at the remains of Bobby's scrapyard and Sam shows the demon tablet while Crowley shows the angel tablet. Crowley has a long contract that he wants Sam to sign as he is the one doing the trials, but Dean examines it first to make sure there are no loopholes in it. Dean eventually tells Sam its good to sign, but then slaps handcuffs on Crowley that connect him to Dean. The handcuffs have a devil's trap painted on them, allowing them to capture Crowley and Sam and Dean reveal that the deal was actually a trap so they could use Crowley for the third trial.
In 9.06 Heaven Can't Wait, Crowley offers Sam a deal to translate the angel tablet for him and Kevin: allow him to call Abaddon and he will do the translation. Though reluctant, Sam agrees and prepares a Goblet of Blood which Crowley insists be created using Kevin's blood instead of Sam's. Though angered by the revelation that Abaddon is transforming Hell and going back on all the deals he has ever made, Crowley keeps his end of the deal, saying he always does, and translates the text, informing Sam and Kevin that Metatron's spell is irreversible.
In 10.18 Book of the Damned and 10.19 The Werther Project, Sam makes a deal with Rowena to decode the Book of the Damned to save Dean from the Mark of Cain. Rowena agrees to save Dean if Sam will kill Crowley for her, which he agrees to. Later, Sam chains Rowena up until she can save Dean, telling her that he will still keep up his end of the deal, but he is just making sure she won't use the book for anything else.
Bobby Singer
Bobby is furious when he discovers that Dean made a deal to bring Sam back in 2.22 All Hell Breaks Loose: Part Two.
Bobby: You stupid ass! What did you do? What did you do?! You made a deal...For Sam, didn't you? How long did they give you?
Dean: Bobby.
Bobby: How long?!
Dean: One year.
Bobby: Damn it, Dean.
Dean: Which is why we gotta find this yellow-eyed son of a bitch. That's why I'm gonna kill him myself. I got nothing to lose now, right?
Bobby: I could throttle you!
Dean: And send me downstairs ahead of schedule?
Bobby: What is it with you Winchesters, huh? You, your dad. You're both just itching to throw yourselves down the pit.
Dean: That's my point. Dad brought me back, Bobby. I'm not even supposed to be here. At least this way, something good could come out of it, you know? It's like my life could mean something.
Bobby: What? And it didn't before?! Have you got that low of an opinion of yourself? Are you that screwed in the head?!
Dean: I couldn't let him die, Bobby. I couldn't. He's my brother.
Bobby: How's your brother gonna feel when he knows you’re going to hell? How'd you feel when you knew your dad went for you?
In spite of his insistence that deals are a terrible idea, Bobby ends up making one himself. During 5.20 The Devil You Know, Crowley approaches Bobby with an offer: in exchange for Bobby's soul, Crowley will give him the location of Death so that the Winchesters will have an opportunity to get the Horseman's ring. Crowley promises to give the soul back as soon as the deal is complete. Bobby is hesitant, but agrees.
Bobby: The world's gonna end. Seems stupid to get all precious over one little soul.
Crowley also arranges for Bobby, who was paralyzed months earlier, to regain the use of his legs. However, while Crowley is willing to help Bobby and the Winchesters to stop Lucifer, he is not willing to return Bobby's soul after they succeed. In 6.04 Weekend at Bobby's, Bobby traps him and tries to make him release his hold, but Crowley's hellhound forces Bobby to free Crowley. The demon tells him he has ten years to live, and departs. During the next year, Bobby tries to find a way out of his deal. He tortures another crossroads demon to find out Crowley's human name, and with Rufus Turner's help manages to make contact with the ghost of Crowley's son, Gavin MacLeod. The spirit tells Bobby where his father's grave is. Bobby summons Crowley, and with Sam and Dean threatening to burn the demon's bones and thereby destroy him, Crowley gives up the claim on Bobby's soul. Bobby reminds him to "leave in" the part about Bobby's legs. Despite Crowley breaking the deal, he sill uses his influence over rogue reaper Ajay to have Bobby's soul taken to Hell before Sam and Dean rescue it and send it to Heaven.
Samuel Campbell
Samuel is killed by Azazel in 1973 as part of securing Mary's deal in 4.03 In the Beginning. Sometime after the re-imprisonment of Lucifer, Samuel is pulled down from Heaven by Crowley. At some point following his return to earth, Samuel makes a deal with Crowley to bring Mary Winchester back to life in exchange for assistance in locating Purgatory.[1] Samuel's efforts to fulfill his deal with Crowley bring him into conflict with Sam and Dean. He eventually betrays them in 6.10 Caged Heat, allowing Crowley to imprison and nearly kill the brothers. Crowley's faked death left the status of Samuel's deal unknown, and Samuel's subsequent demise makes further action even less likely.[2]
Other Deals
A number of other characters on Supernatural have either made, or attempted to make, deals.
Deals with Demons
At 14, Bela is approached by a Crossroads demon inhabiting another child, as shown in a flashback in 3.15 Time Is on My Side. The demon offers to take care of her abusive father if Bela agrees to sell her soul, to be collected in ten years. Bela makes the deal, and her parents die in a car wreck resulting from a cut brake line. Bela becomes a purveyor of mystical objects. She steals the Colt from Sam and Dean, and tries to barter it for a release from her deal. The demon holding her contract wants more, however: Bela must kill the Winchesters. She breaks into their hotel room and shoots through the sheets on their beds. But the brothers are already gone, and have left dolls in their places. Bela's contract comes due, and it is implied that hellhounds kill her.
As a human, Crowley's name was Fergus MacLeod. He was a tailor living in Scotland, and one day made a deal with a demon "in exchange for an extra three inches below the belt" i.e. a longer dick. After his death, Fergus went to Hell and was transformed into a demon who took the name Crowley.
Evan Hudson was approached by a crossroads demon at Lloyd's Bar. He sold his soul to heal his wife's cancer. Ten years later, when his contract comes due, Sam and Dean are investigating related deaths in his area. Evan knows his demise is approaching, as he has been hearing the hellhounds bark. Sam and Dean come to his house after his wife leaves. Sam stays with Evan in a ring of Goofer dust while Dean goes to a crossroads and negotiates for Evan's release. Evan is freed from his deal.
George Darrow summoned a crossroads demon outside Lloyd's bar. He was an artist who sold his soul for talent. When Sam and Dean encounter him ten years later, he has blocked the entrance to his apartment with a line of Goofer dust so that he can finish the last of his work. While he did acquire talent, he has not been successful as an artist. After he summoned the demon, it stayed at Lloyd's making other deals. George feels guilty for exposing others to the demon and accepts his fate as punishment, and refuses the Winchesters' aid.
Mr. Pendleton
Mr. Pendleton is in charge of a large bank that has made serious financial errors. In order to obtain a bailout for his bank, Pendleton sells his soul to Crowley, who gives him ten years, in 5.10 Abandon All Hope....
In Mississippi in 1930, Robert sells his soul to a crossroads demon to become "the best blues man ever lived." Eight years later, while playing guitar at a club, Robert hears hellhounds. He runs from the club and barricades himself in a house. When his friends break in, Robert is lying on the ground, talking about black dogs.
This architect made a deal with the demon summoned by George Darrow. He began to design impressive structures that gained him success and professional recognition. He died in a fall from the top of a building ten years after his deal was made. Sam and Dean speculate that he jumped to escape hellhounds.
Dr. Pearlman sold her soul to the demon summoned by George Darrow. During her ten years of prosperity, Dr. Pearlman became the chief of surgery at her hospital. As the end of the ten years approached, she began to see hellhounds. She goes into hiding at a hotel, but is eventually found and killed.
Mrs. Renee Van Allen, Elizabeth, and Amanda Burns are members of a suburban coven in 3.09 Malleus Maleficarum. They use incantations and rituals to gain prosperity for themselves and their families. One of them won a series of craft fairs and another's husband was promoted. In the course of working their magic, they pledge their souls to demons in exchange for power. That they did not believe in demons or the deals they made did not make the deals any less real. One member of the coven, Tammi, is actually the demon to whom their souls are owed. All the members of the coven are killed, and presumably sent to Hell.
Ruby was a witch during medieval times who also sold her soul to the demon called Tammi. She went to Hell upon her death and became a demon.
Crowley made a deal with the angel Castiel to find Purgatory and share all of the souls there so they each would possess a lot more power and could secure their respective positions in Heaven and Hell. As a "down payment" to help Castiel in the now, Crowley offered 50,000 souls from Hell to aid in fighting Raphael. Castiel agreed and the two spent the next year working on finding a way to open Purgatory, with Castiel betraying Sam and Dean to do so. Eventually they find a way to open Purgatory, but Castiel betrays Crowley with the intention of taking all the souls for himself. Crowley then makes the same deal with Raphael, but Castiel pretends to give them the blood they need, betrays them both, and performs the ritual for himself, getting all of the souls. Castiel is then able to solidify his position by killing Raphael. He eventually returns the souls, but not before the Leviathans escape.
Becky Rosen and 15 other people
The crossroads demon Guy began making deals with people and then having his minion Jackson kill them in "accidents" so that he could collect their souls early and gain power for himself. In at least one case, Guy marketed himself as a witch, rather than a demon, and gave a preview of his powers to entice customers. However, when Guy tried to make a deal with Becky, who used a temporary love potion from Guy to marry to Sam, she realizes that he is a demon and turns on him, trapping him in a devil's trap to try to force him to break the deals. He refuses and has Jackson free him, but Becky kills Jackson in the fight that follows. Crowley arrives, and offers the Winchesters a deal: hand over Guy and Crowley will rip up all of Guy's deals. Crowley follows through and Guy is taken to be punished for cheating in his deals.
Aware that Crowley's blood is needed to complete a weapon capable of killing him, Dick summons the demon into a devil's trap to discuss the matter. Dick offers Canada to Crowley for the use of demons in exchange for Crowley giving the Winchesters the wrong blood and leaving America to the Leviathans. Crowley, who later claims he had no choice due to being trapped, agrees to the deal. Instead of sealing it with a kiss as usual, Crowley pulls out a massive contract that he and Dick spend the night going over and modifying before they come to an agreement and sign the deal. Despite the contract, Crowley betrays Dick, giving his blood to the Winchesters and informing them of the deal as he wants Dick dead badly.
After tracking Kevin down, Crowley offers Kevin a deal: turn himself over to him and Crowley will let Kevin's girlfriend Channing, who is possessed by a demon, go free. Kevin pretends to agree, but actually lures the two demons into a backroom where he drops holy water on them and escapes with Sam and Dean. Enraged by this, Crowley murders Channing. While held captive by the Winchesters, Crowley offers Kevin a second deal: free him and he will lead Kevin to his mother, whom he claims is still alive. While Kevin is tempted, he decides not to trust Crowley and doesn't release him.
In February 2003, wanting to get Alice Cassity as his wife, Carl decides to summon a crossroads demon to get his heart's desire. He ends up getting Crowley, the King of the Crossroads, who makes the deal, causing Alice to fall in love with him and marry him. However, Crowley doesn't tell him that in ten years his soul will be collected and he is unaware of this until a hellhound kills him ten years later.
Wanting her forever-arguing family to be happy and believing that they would if they got rich, Margot makes a deal with Crowley when he is over for dinner posing as a traveling salesman for the family to find oil so they could become rich. Crowley doesn't inform her that her soul will be dragged to Hell in ten years' time and, while searching the woods for what she believes is a wolf that killed her brother-in-law Carl, she is killed by a hellhound despite Sam's best efforts.
After finding Margot making a deal with Crowley, Ellie decides to make a deal to cure her mother of Parkinson's disease as she doesn't want her to suffer through that. Her mother now no longer suffers as a result, but Crowley neglected to inform her of the fact that he would be back for her soul in ten years. When the hellhound comes for her, Sam manages to kill it and the Winchesters send her on the run with a hex bag to hide so that Crowley can't find her and collect her soul. Though she is still marked for Hell when she eventually dies, Dean believes that if they manage to seal it up, she will be fine.
After walking in on his wife cheating on him, Lester is found by Sam getting drunk at a bar lamenting his ruined life. During their conversation, Lester remarks that he wants revenge on his wife, but knows he won't do anything. Sam then tells him that there is a way for him to have his revenge, as well as anything he wants. Sam takes Lester to a crossroads, where he has him summon a crossroads demon in a devil's trap, but before Sam can intervene, Lester makes a deal with the demon Dar to have his wife killed. However, when Crowley sends the now-demon Dean to kill Lester's wife, Dean confronts Lester about his reasons for making the deal, mocking his lack of courage. The fight culminates in Dean stabbing Lester with the First Blade, resulting in Crowley not claiming Lester's soul as he died before his deal was fulfilled.
Wanting another chance at a wrestling title, Gunner made a deal with the crossroads demon Duke. Gunner won the title, but only kept it for a week. Ten years later, Duke offers Gunner the chance to avoid the hellhounds by helping him to collect souls for Duke's "nest egg." When the Winchesters arrive, Gunner chooses to help them and kills Duke. Afterwards, the hellhounds come for Gunner, who decides to face them, feeling he deserves to go to Hell for his evil deeds.
Noel
In 2006 a man by the name of Noel made a crossroads deal with Crowley, that according to Noel allowed him to learn many of the world's secrets. Having found the Horn of Joshua and with his deal coming up, Noel makes another deal with Crowley. He will give him the Horn in exchange for destroying their contract. Crowley obliges and destroys the document once in possession of the Horn. However, Crowley decides to kill him anyway by snapping his neck.
Donald Trump
While under the influence of Jack's truth compulsion, President Donald Trump reveals that he made a deal of some sort with Crowley.
Deals with Spirits
As a boy, Jake and one of his friends unintentionally drowned another boy, Peter Sweeney, in a lake. They then covered up his death. Years later, as shown in 1.03 Dead in the Water, the vengeful spirit of the drowned boy begins to take revenge, culminating in an attack on Jake's grandson Lucas. Lucas is pulled under the surface of the lake and Jake wades into the water, yelling for the spirit to take him and free his grandson. The spirit takes Jake, and Dean finds Lucas and pulls him from the water.
Rose, her daughter Susan, and her granddaughter Tyler live in the Pierpont Inn. Rose's sister Maggie drowned in the inn's pool years before, and her spirit remained. Rose kept her at bay for years with Hoodoo, but after suffering a stroke she could no longer control the ghost. When the inn is up for sale in 2.11 Playthings, Maggie's spirit starts killing. In order to insure that she will not be alone, Maggie tries to kill Tyler. She is prevented by Rose, who agrees to die and remain behind as a spirit if Tyler is spared. Tyler lives, and Rose's spirit is glimpsed playing with Maggie.
Deals with Angels
Aaron's brother Christopher was accidentally killed by a group of police officers who then planted a weapon on the body. To get revenge, Aaron sells his soul to Balthazar in exchange for a part of the Staff of Moses, which allows him to visit plagues on the officers in 6.03 The Third Man. The fragment of the Staff is taken by Castiel. Sam and Dean trap Balthazar in a circle of holy fire, and force Balthazar to release his claim on Aaron.
Adam made a deal with an angel speaking for Zachariah and Michael: Adam would consent to resurrection and to be Michael's vessel, and in exchange, Adam would see his mother again. Zachariah probably intended to follow through on Adam seeing his mother again, but never intended to have Adam serve as Michael's vessel; Adam was resurrected to be bait for a trap for Dean. Michael takes Adam as a substitute vessel, and both are eventually trapped in Lucifer's Cage.
After learning that his brother Abel was talking to Lucifer, Cain makes a deal with Lucifer: allow Abel into Heaven and he will take his brother's place in Hell. Lucifer agreed on the condition that Cain kill Abel himself, which he did. Cain went on to become one of the most powerful and feared demons in existence.
Deals with Fairies
Mr. Brennan is a watchmaker whose trade is threatened when he develops Parkinson's disease. Using a book inherited from his grandmother, he summons the Leprechaun, who agrees to have fairies work in Brennan's shop, provided they can take of the "fruit and fat of the land". Brennan agrees. The fairies arrive, and start abducting firstborn sons, including Brennan's own boy, Patrick. Brennan later tries to send the fairies away by reversing the original spell, and is killed by the Leprechaun. After Brennan's death, Sam succeeds in reversing the spell, stopping the fairies.
After figuring out that poppy seed extract can harm the Wicked Witch of the West, James Haggerty makes a deal with a fairy to get some. It is later used by Sam, Dean, Charlie Bradbury, and Dorothy to fight the Witch when she escapes in 2013.
Deals with Gods
Townspeople of Burkittsville, Indiana
The people of Burkittsville, Indiana, after settling the town, made a deal with a Norse god known as The Vanir. In exchange for yearly sacrifices, they were given good weather and a good harvest. Displease the god by not making the sacrifices and their harvest and town would start to die. This went on for centuries until John Winchester learned of it and let Sam and Dean know. After fighting the Vanir, with the help of Emily, Sam and Dean destroyed the god and broke the deal by locating the First Tree -- the tree the god was tied to -- and having Emily burn it. With the Vanir dead, the town would die and fall to ruin.
At Plutus' auction of mystical artifacts, Plutus grabs Kevin and adds him to the auction of the Word of God. Linda wins the auction by offering her soul which Sam warns won't kill her, but will make her wish she was dead, knowing from his own soulless experience. (Crowley attempted to auction off his own soul for the Word, but Plutus rejected this offer as Crowley had no soul.)
After the auction, Samandriel tries to convince her to let the angels guard Kevin, but she refuses as the last time angels tried, they were killed and Kevin got kidnapped. She is then possessed by Crowley after Beau burns off her tattoo.
Possessing her body, Crowley pretends to seal her deal and then teams up with Beau to kill Plutus and his guards and take the Word of God. In the fight that follows, Dean nearly kills Crowley and Linda with Ruby's Knife, but Crowley flees her body first, leaving her in shock and completely unresponsive. Sam and Dean believe she will recover as she is a strong woman, but Kevin tricks them and flees with her. He leaves a note asking Sam and Dean not to follow them.
Brick is a former Mayan sportsman who made a deal with the god Cacao for eternal life and enhanced abilities through the god's High Priest. In order to maintain the spell, he had to consume two human hearts a year, one every six months, as tribute to the god. Among the abilities granted him were superhuman strength -- enough to rip a human heart out with his bare hands. Eventually after nearly a thousand years, Brick couldn't take it any more and killed himself, but his organs survived and were transplanted into eight people and the spell continued on in them. For the next year, these people killed other people for their hearts, but after learning that Brick's heart was the key to the spell, Dean killed Randa Moreno, the person with Brick's heart, breaking the deal's influence over the surviving seven people and killing all but presumably Arthur Swenson who cut out his transplanted eye.
In an attempt to save her son Oliver from Zeus' curse that makes him die every day and come back to life, Hayley agrees to release Zeus from the trap Sam and Dean are holding him in if he breaks the curse. However, Zeus immediately goes back on the deal, having just used Hayley to break free. The curse is broken when Prometheus kills Zeus.
Deals with Witches
In order to win the War for the Emerald City, Charlie made a deal with The Wizard of Oz to split herself into her good and dark sides in order to win. Dark Charlie won the war single-handedly, then traveled to Earth to get revenge on Russell Wellington, the man who killed her parents and covered it up to keep from going to jail. Dark Charlie breaks the Key to Oz so that Charlie can't return and get the Wizard's help to put herself back together. The Winchesters work with Charlie to find a way to fix the Key so she can return to Oz and break the deal. In the end, the Wizard is summoned to Earth by Clive Dillon and then killed by Charlie, allowing Sam to use the Inner Key of Oz to bring the two Charlies back together and break the deal.
Deals with the Cosmic Entity
To ensure that the Cosmic Entity does not take Jack back to the Empty, Castiel agrees to go with it in Jack's stead. He explains that it would have to wait years or even eons for him to die again, but if it lets Jack go, it could take him without a fight. The Entity agrees to the deal, but does not immediately take Castiel back with it to the Empty. It tells Castiel that it wants him to suffer, and only when the day comes that Castiel is truly happy will it arrive to take it back to the nothingness of the Empty.
