Dean in his favorite robe.

Dean, look, I think we might have something here – something that could help us, help humanity. Henry certainly thought so. I mean, you know damn well we could use a break. What if we finally got one? Are you gonna take off the dead-guy robe?

Tyrone Power in the 1939 movie The Power of Jesse James.

The "dead guy robe" is a dressing gown that Dean finds in the Men of Letters Bunker, which belonged to one of the Men of Letters before the organization was virtually wiped out by Abaddon in 1958. It is of a 1930's style and appears to be made of a fine grey woolen fabric.

The robe has the initial T.E.P. monogrammed in red on the left breast pocket. According to writer Ben Edlund, the initials stand for Tyrone Edmund Power. The real Tyrone Power was a movie star during Hollywood's Golden age, who had an adventure filled life. Power was openly (for the time) bisexual, which may indicate some progressiveness on part of the Men of Letters.

Ben Edlund said of Power in a tweet:

"A better swordsman than most, a wartime pilot, had a heart attack while shooting a duel in Spain. Def Man of Letters"
