Cyrus dated Cassie Robinson's mother, unbeknownst to Cyrus she was secretly seeing Martin Robinson, and eventually broke things off with Cyrus. This Enraged Cyrus, who went about committing a series of suspicious car accidents involving African-American men, however nothing was done about it. He eventually finds out about the pending nuptials and proceeds to burn down the church they were to be married in, killing the children's choir. Cyrus then attacked Martin, and beat him severely. The following day, Clayton was killed, and within three weeks, Cassie's father is also killed by the 'phantom' truck.
