According to the Entity, its true form is horrific enough that it can drive an angel insane from viewing it. The Entity takes on a black and viscous form when awake, with the ability to shift its shape to appear as it wishes. In the case of meeting [[Castiel]], it took on the form of his vessel, [[Jimmy Novak]]. When Castiel returned in search of [[Ruby]], the Entity choses chose the form of [[Meg]] to keep with the "[[demon]] theme." The Entity appears appeared to adopt Meg's form as its own afterwards, using it when it visits [[Death's Library]] and remained in that shape when Jack returned to the Empty to detonate. After reforming itself, the Entity shifted into Meg once again rather than use its real form or another shape.
The Cosmic Entity also holds domain over the Empty, its will surpassing even [[God]]'s, making it the only being able to revive the [[angels]] and [[demons]] slumbering. However, both God and [[Billie]] as [[Death]] have shown the ability to resurrect deceased beings, in the latter's case because the Entity allowed it since they were working together. The Entity later admits that its belief that God had no power in the Empty turned out to be just "sweet little lies." Billie subsequently states that while the Entity is immensely powerful, it is not as powerful as God or the Darkness though she calls it "vast" due to the Empty existing in a realm outside creation, making it capable of absorbing the impact of a metaphysical supernova and surviving.
* Awoken Inhabitants – When [[Castiel]] was woken up in [[the Empty]], it caused the Entity to awaken as well. Something for which it was not happy about, telling Castiel that it needs to sleep and can't go back unless Castiel also sleeps. Forcing the Entity to resurrect Castiel in hopes that it would allow it to finally sleep again.
* [[The Darkness]] & [[God]] – According to [[Billie]], while the Entity is powerful and vast, it is not as powerful as [[Chuck]] or [[Amara]], with Chuck having been able to prevent the Entity from going to Earth unless summoned.
* [[Spells]] – While the ritual [[Jack Kline]] performed to turn his body into a "metaphysical supernova" that turned him into a living black hole for divine energy, could not destroy the Entity, his detonating in the Empty had a debilitating effect, causing it to become "loud" and for the first time showing the Entity feeling pain.
* [[Warding Sigils|Warding]] – Special warding can prevent the Entity from gaining entry into a place, as was done to [[Death's Library]] after the Entity made an incursion and killed a handful of [[reapers]].
