When Alex escapes while the family is on a hunt, it's Cody that realizes she has run away, and tracks her down to the sheriff's department in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, hoping to get her back home before anyone realizes they are gone. To get to Alex, he lures the only deputy on duty, Deputy Frank, with a report of a B & E, and knocks him out to get his keys. As he enters her cell, he tells that no matter what she does, how far she runs, they will always be able to find her. Just as he starts to bare his fangs, Sheriff Jody Mills decapitates him with a fire axe.
