When Sam and Dean notice suction marks on the backs on victims, changeling is one of the theories Dean goes with. However it is shot down by Sam, as the deaths don't fit the modus operandi of changelings.
Changelings in Lore
In European folklore and folk belief, a changeling is the offspring of a fairy, troll, elf or other legendary creature that has been secretly left in the place of a human child. The apparent changeling could also be a stock or fetch, a glamorized piece of wood that would soon appear to grow sick and die.[2]
