History

Bori Baba or Father Sack is a North Indian equivalent of a boogeyman. Bori Baba stories were passed down from generation to generation through oral tradition, making information on him unreliable.

Characteristics

Bori Baba appears as a human figure covered in sack cloth rags, and a mask reminiscent of a scarecrow. Bori Baba lures its victims by tempting them with an item of deep meaning that they have lost. The person seeking this lost item will have a sack appear before them, from which Bori Baba emerges from and takes them to be trapped in his maze, to be played with before finally being eaten alive.

Powers and abilities

  • Immortality – Bori Baba is long lived, as Latika Dar points out a piece of his sack cloth is over a thousand years old.
