→15.09 The Trap
After returning to [[Purgatory]], Dean suggests to Castiel that they look for Benny, figuring that Benny probably runs Purgatory by now. After capturing a [[Leviathan]], Dean asks about Benny and the Leviathan reveals that Benny is a legend in Purgatory for escaping and then coming back. However, Benny was ripped apart by a pack of [[vampires]] after helping Sam to escape. Dean is devastated to learn of his friend's death after all that Benny did for him and Sam.
[[God]] later reveals that [[Chuck's EndingEndings|the visions]] Sam saw, including the one with Benny, were in fact memories of alternate reality Sam and Dean's.
