When [[Gadreel]] and [[Castiel]] plan to infiltrate [[Heaven]], they locate [[Metatron]]'s secret entrance, which at the time was located in a playground, and guarded by the [[angels]] Asariel & Purah. In order for Castiel and Gadreel to gain access to Heaven, Castiel having gained knowledge of pop culture has Gadreel take him "prisoner." However Asariel & Purah tell Gadreel they have orders from Metatron to keep the door closed to all, Gadreel refutes them by telling them he was order Metatron to capture and bring Castiel to Heaven for questioning. Asariel & Purah begrudgingly agree and go about drawing the [[spell]] in a sandbox, and allow Castiel and Gadreel passage to Heaven.

Asariel, whose name translates to "God is my aid", is considered one of the archangels of Heaven. Asariel is considered the angel of discovering truth and rumors as well as well spiritual matters such as contact with the dead.
