History
Amelia Novak is the wife of Jimmy Novak, who is the vessel for the angel Castiel. Amelia and Jimmy have a daughter together, Claire Novak. The family lived in Pontiac, Illinois.

4.20 The Rapture
When Jimmy starts talking about angels, saying that he's being called upon for something bigger, Amelia gives him an ultimatum: either he gets psychiatric help, or she takes their daughter to her mother's house, away from him. Jimmy leaves to act as Castiel's vessel, and Amelia doesn't see him for almost a year. Jimmy returns and asks to become involved with Amelia and Claire's lives again. Amelia agrees, but as they sit down to dinner, the family is attacked by demons possessing their neighbors. They are rescued by Sam and Dean.
Jimmy leaves Amelia and his daughter and goes with Sam and Dean, realizing that he would only be putting his family in more danger by staying with them. It is then revealed that Amelia has been possessed by a demon, presumably during the attack on their home. She holds Claire hostage to bring Jimmy out of hiding, and shoots him. She is saved during a fight in which Castiel reappears, manifesting inside Claire, and in which Sam exorcises the demon possessing her. Castiel leaves Claire at Jimmy's urging, reoccupying his former vessel. Amelia is last seen holding her daughter, staring in shock at the angel in her husband's body.
10.09 The Things We Left Behind
Claire tells Castiel that a few months after "The Rapture", Amelia dropped Claire off at her mothers and left to "find herself."
