|Episode(s)||11.10 The Devil in the Details|
Ambriel is an angel that worked in birth/death statistics in Heaven.
In the fallout of the angel smiting of Amara, Heaven sends Ambriel to ground zero to assess the success or failure of the attack. While there she stumbles across Castiel, she begs him not kill her, telling him that him killing angels is the nicest things being said about him in Heaven. When Castiel assures her he isn't going to kill her, she proposes they search for Amara together, telling him since she has been there she hasn't found anything odd. Until Castiel points out it is the afternoon and it is completely dark. As the two search the woods together, Castiel tries to explain himself and his situation with Ambriel, telling her he never wanted to be hated by his own kind. Ambriel tries to comfort Castiel by telling him she doesn't hate him, citing the things they have in common, like how their names rhyme and how they are both expendable. Castiel appears to be offend by the remark, but Ambriel explains that she is only a "number cruncher" and that while he does help, Sam and Dean Winchester are the real heroes, and if the Darkness is still alive and kills them, it won't be a big loss. Ambriel splits away from Castiel and soon comes across Amara's seemingly lifeless body laying on the ground. She walks up to it and touches it to see if Amara is still alive. Without warning, Amara's eyes open and she grabs Ambriel, who lets out a scream. When Castiel hears this, he rushes to her location to find Amara consuming Ambriel's grace and life force. Soon after, the dark skies dissipate as the surrounding Darkness returns to Amara's body. When Castiel questions Amara about what she did, Amara tells him she consumed Ambriel's grace, life force and memories.
